The Proposal

I was planning to move across the country to be with Dave while he does his army officer training and as we talked about moving in and moving away the more we realized we should get married first! By the time we made the decision there were only 4 months before his posting date (when we had to move) so before he proposed I started planning!

A few weeks later was his annual Fraternity dinner. He had led me to beleive he would be proposing the following weekend over dinner but this was just to make sure I would be surprised - and I was! I hung out with another Frat wife (now my wedding planner!) and when the boys were finished we drove over to the Faculty Club at the University (a beautiful old hall with stained glass windows, old stone, and that romantic air of the past).

Unbenowst to me the girl I was with was txting Dave and letting everyone know how soon we would be there. Once we arrived Dave met me outside and "pinned me" with his fraternity pin. He walked me inside and I didn't see many people until he opened the doors to the great hall and there 50 of his fraternity brother were lined up in their suits and as I walked in they began to sing the fraternity love song "tell me why she wears his pin."

I started to cry as Dave led me into the center of the room. There he got down on one knee and brought out the ring. He was so choked up with tears that he couldn't get the words out (which is adorable because I never see him emotional), and I was so excited that I just blurted out "Yes!" He slid on the ring and all the men broke into applause. They led us over to chairs and gave us champagne then it was hugs and congratulations from everyone there! Then we all went out to the club district of Hamilton to celebrate!
