Wedding Dress
I am find that rentals are crazy expensive. It can be close to the same price to buy your own dinnerware, glassware, silverware, etc and just sell it after the wedding.
I have found plates at save-on-crafts.com for $1.60 each but then another bride told me that she bought everything from IKEA for $0.29-0.79. I checked the site and, sure enough, found plates for $0.79. They also have napkins for $0.50 verses the $0.69 I have been qoted as a rental price. I am living in a state with an IKEA right now and plan on going to check them out. Side note: Is it honestly too much to ask a caterer to provide their own plates and silverware when a costumer is dishing out thousands of dollards for their food!? |

Wedding Decoration
Our venu is great. The dancing will take place in a ballroom and right next to the ballroom is a long rectangle room that was once used as a bowling alley. I would like to include pictures from past weddings in my family and create a sort of gallery in this area.
Linens are driving me crazy. I am on the search to find linens I can buy rather than paying $16 to rent them. No such luck yet. I love the idea of having old fashioned signs that say "Wedding this way" or "To the bar". This site: http://www.theprimmarket.com/shopping/ has links to tons of craft stores that can custome make signs and lots of other goodies. I also like the idea of having chalkboards as I am a teacher and FI was a teacher before he went to law school. |

Cocktail Hour
Lemonade and other yellow drinks. I really like the idea of having a signature cocktail in yellow to keep the color theme going but I realize not everyone will like the signature cocktail. We may just do the open bar at this point.
I'm crazy about dessert and have been know to eat ice cream for lunch. I would like to serve sweets during cocktail hour (something light like cookies to go with the lemonade) because... its my wedding and I can have dessert before dinner if I want to. :) |

I love lunabazaar.com and paperlaternstore.com for ideas. We are getting married in the middle of July. The ceremony does not start until the evening but it can still be pretty hot. I think these fans and parasols will not only cool people off, but they will also look beautiful.
