Hi! I am a newbie to this site! I've been engaged since 12/21/07 and the wedding is 5/24/09.

Selecting bridesmaid dresses has been really difficult! I (foolishly?) asked my bridesmaids for opinions and ended up having them "veto" dresses and be really picky. I wanted to give options, but I've been having trouble making that work with the same color and fabric.

One thing I learned is that you HAVE to get someone to try the dress on before you order. I was all set to order 2 different dresses once I got the measurements from my 6 bridesmaids. My maid of honor and another maid got measured at a place that carried one of the dresses and it ended up looking hideous on them. They make the dresses look so good on the internet models. For reference this was After Six style 6504.

So they tried on 2 other dresses, and I think I am ready to go with one of them. It doesn't come in my first choice color, Sapphire, but it comes in Sailor (as pictured).

I can't say I'm sorry that I asked for opinions, because now I know that I am making a decision with an idea of what my bridesmaids are comfortable with.

I am waiting for 2 more measurements and I will order hopefully Tuesday or Wednesday! I hope it doesn't take longer than 12 weeks!
