Reception Planning - Using Local Resources in Vegas
To keep costs low I'm seriously considering having an "in suite" reception catered by Albertson's, the local grocery store. I can order online, their prices are great and they offer a nice variety. I'm looking into having them make my cake too but their flowers are pretty expensive in my opinion. The only downside is we would have to pick everything up since they don't deliver. Most of the caterers in town that do in suite receptions won't accomodate such a small group or charge extra for fewer than 50 people.

If we don't have the reception in our suite I'm thinking about renting a picnic area at one of the local parks. Our hotel suite could be our indoor backup location if the weather is bad. Since there will only be 10 of us and the whole event will be casual this might work out. The park wouldn't be private but it would be nice to get away from the hustle and bustle of the Strip and see a little more of the city. That would require hiring more transportation though so we'll have to see.

Wedding Budget
Budget for our Destination Wedding
We've decided to get married in Las Vegas. Never having been to Vegas I just decided on a random amount of $3000 for our wedding budget. My preliminary research shows that we will be able to have an awesome wedding, treat our wedding party to some entertainment, a nice meal and pay for their rooms for two nights! The budget also allows for Daniel and I to stay for a week and includes our airfare. We'll see how it all turns out. The budget does not include the reception that we will throw when we get home or photography. I haven't decided yet if I want to hire a photographer here at home or in Las Vegas. And we will create a honeymoon registry instead of asking for gifts.

I really like the idea of the wedding packages that so many places in Las Vegas offer. That's a lot of planning that I don't have to worry about. And I was really suprised to find so many affordable packages. I guess the prices are kept to minimum due to so much competition.

Here is our preliminary budget:

Wedding Package: $600
Extra Flowers: $Unknown
Tips: $100
Dinner after Ceremony: $300
Airfare: $500
Room for Dan and I: Unknown
Transportation: $ Unknown
Bridesmades Spa Treatments: $400
Room for Attendants: $250
Invitations: $ Unknown
Golf w/ Groomsman: $350
