Wedding Dress - HELPPPP!!!! :'( so sad/confused - LITTLELAMB's Purple Wedding by Color Blog

I'm going through the worst situation ever right now involving my dress. It's supposed to be the most exciting part but I'm living a nightmare :( I'm at the point where I don't even want to wear a dress, I'd rather just elope :'( (not actually, but its really upsetting me).

So as you know from my previous blog. I said yes to a dress. Well I also blogged that I was having doubts....they came BACK and I already put an $800.00 deposit on my dress!!!! :(

My mom and sister are in LOVE with the dres, but I have been looking at pictures and watching the video we took of me trying on the dress and I just don't have that "love it" feeling anymore :(

So I emailed the lady who owns the bridal salon and she put a hold on the order. Im going tomorrow night to try on the dress once more and see if the feelings come back (please pray that they do:( ).

Well today I went and tried on some more dresses with my bridesmaid Jill, my sister, and my mom and I FELL IN LOVE WITH ANOTHER DRESS!! :( I just feel like its more waht I'm looking for.

I feel SICK to my stomach. I am hoping and praying that I fall back in love with the original dress tomorrow night.

So the most unfortunate part is that I already put $800.00 down on the dress. Im hoping that since she put the order on hold they haven't started making it yet and i can get, if not all, some of my deposit back.

Anyone else go through anything similar??

I totally understand how u feel. I did the same thing. I actually ended up buying 3 gowns! But what I fail to do after I bought my dress and you probably did the same thing which is stop looking.. your always gonna see something prettier. Now if u like the other dress better than the one the deposit is on then get it. I understand that u want everyone's approval but that's not gonna happen. Get that dress that u love and u feel amazing in!

Hopefully you can get the full refund back since they haven't started making the dress yet. It's unfortunate that your mom isn't supporting you in the 2nd dress that you love, but it maybe more of a worry instead of her "hating your 2nd dress". If you are absolutely sure that you WANT the 2nd dress, then I say go for it. Don't worry about if others will like it or not. You are the one wearing the dress. :)

There this one dress that my mom & sister loved when I put it on. They even had some tears. But I just wasn't in love with it as much as they were. I picked the 2nd dress that I wanted & they are okay with it. It's all about you, what you want, & what makes you happy!

I think all brides to be have some hesistation about their dress, they want it to be perfect for their special day. At least that's what I'm going through right now. It is a really tough decision. BUT.... Remember there was something about the dress that made you fall in love with it in the first place. So when you go in today and try it on, go in with an open mind, stay positive. Remember that your Fiance will love whatever you wear (even the paper bag lol) Your a beautiful girl...and all dresses will look beautiful on you, And like iammrsdubose said...when you do decide, best thing to do is just stop looking. And if dress # 2 makes you happy...then you have to do what's best for you. It's an important day for you and FH...you want to feel your best, and now be wondering about...what you'd look like in another dress.. Smile. Don't sad...it will all be okay in the end, if its not okay, its not the end...:)

i think this could have happened to anyone honey! i actually bought my dress a year and a half away from my wedding.... i just fell in love and every time i put it on, i fall in love all over again. i never wanted to look and try on others, or even when i looked at other dresses, i just felt like "meh, mines better" lol. it’s like falling in love with your man!!!! honestly!
i think once you find that dress, you'll know. i really hope you can get your deposit back! go and try it on again, there’s a reason why you fell in love with it the first time. sometimes just looking at it, you don't feel it until it’s on. good luck and keep us posted =)

I am so sorry you are going through this. I have not gone through a situation like this, but I did doubt my dress at one point. I didn't think it was what I really wanted anymore. Every time I think like that...I look at the pic of me in the dress and I remember how beautiful I looked in the dress and the way it made me feel.

Are the dresses similar in style or are the complete opposite? $800.00 is a lot. I would see if you are not in love with the dress anymore...perhaps they can move the deposit the other dress you like or give it back if it's at a different shop. I hope everything works out. Keep us updated please.

Okay ladies. So I went tonight to try on my original dress. And i felt nothing. Its not the one. We tried multiple things with the dress to change my mind but nothing worked. Eva (the woman who owns the salon) was so understanding about everything and she was so sweet. She told me not to worry about my deposit, that it would be returned. She also mentioned that she is getting 50 new samples in (her salon is very small, she only has 60 dresses right now, but they are mostly all european specialty dresses) and she would like me to come in in a few weeks and we can start from scratch. I intend to buy my wedding dress from her. She isnt like any of the other salon women I have met that are pushy and will tell you you look good in anything to sell a dress. So I'm taking a break for a few weeks and it's back to the drawing board.

Thank you all sooo much for your thoughtful words and all of your support. It really meant a lot to me to be able to come here and vent to you girls and get your support in return.
