I FINALLY got done all my invitations. I can't even begin to tell you how happy I am that they are done! I almost had a mental brekadown over these things! I made them completely myself and it was SUCH hassel...everything that could have gone wrong went wrong.
I origianlly only bought 3 rolls of the purple ribbon to start with becuase thats all Wal-Mart had. Well it only ended up making 12 invitations, so I needed about 25 more rolls! I went back to wal-mart a week later and they still did not have any new rolls in. So i asked at customer service and they explained to me that they only restock the ribbon every 3 weeks and they usually only get 3 or 4 rolls at one time! So I then tried to order the ribbon from the company itself. The website said that I could order a bulk amount and I could pay an extra $40 for express shipping so that the ribbon would arrive at my house in 3-5 days- which unfortunately I had to pay that amount because I was on a huge time crunch! Well once I put all my credit card information in and completed my order I received an email thanking me for my order- it would take 3-4 weeks for the ribbon to arrive at the shipping cmpany, and then they would express ship it to my house....WHAT?????!!!! I was outraged! before I completed my order it said NOWHERE that it had to be shipped to the company first before they express sent it to me. So I cancelled my order and luckily there were no problems doing so.
So...between myself, my mother-in-law to be, and my sister who live sin Tampa, Fl. we checked every wal-mart around and bought all the rolls of purple each one had. We only came up with 8 rolls....between 4 wal-marts :(
Well my dad and I ended up flying to Florida to pick up my sister because she decided to come home back to Canada for the next couple of months before the wedding bc she currently does not have her work permit yet to work in Florida. So we flew out to Florida and we drove her and her car back to Canada. On the way home we made special trips to 5 different wal-marts in 4 different states just to get my ribbon! I was soo relieved that we were able to get what i needed! BUT WHAT A HEADACHE!!!
So anyways, they are now DONE and most of them have been mailed out...there are only a few i need some addresses for.
I ended up having to pay an enromous amount on postage bc the the damned bow made the envelope more thick! ughhh.....after all of that... :(
But in the end, I really love them, and I've already been getting compliments on them from the people who have received them already!
I also made seperate invitations for the people who are invited to the ceremony and the dance part of the reception only (because we both have such large families, we weren't able to fit all our friends for the meal, so some will be coming for the dance portion of the night...) and I made them the opposite of the original invitation, with a purple border around the invite, and a silver border around the reception information card!
Sorry for the long post! But I needed to b*tch about the whole process haha!
I've posted some pics, and also a sneak peek of my bridesmaid dresses because they've arrived!! :)
