Wedding Music And Songs
First Dance song *tears*
I came across this song on Youtube and I fell in love with it! It is called "A Thousand Years" by Christina Perri. I lover her voice so much! This song is exactly what I have been looking for in a first dance song! It's simple and sweet but so beautiful...kinda the way I feel about our relationship :).
My only worry is that since this song is featured in the new Twilight movie coming out (can't wait for that btw...) its going to blow up on the radio and everyone is going to use it at their weddings next summer, or it will be so overplayed I will be sick of it by then! I got tears when I heard the lines "All my life I believed I would find you. time has brought your heart to me I have loved you for a thousand years, I'll love you for a thousand more." I just showed Sean and he likes it to and agreed it could be our first dance song!!! :) So I guess if I don't change my mind in these next 10 months this will be our first dance song!! :) ***Our original first dance song was "Flightless Bird" by Iron and Wine, we both love that song so much and it's kind of like "our song"....it's very romantic music but none of the lyrics really make sense...so we'll probably play that song at some point in the night but not for our first dance! :) What do you think?!?! |

*Ceremony Site Chosen*
FH and I both really wanted an outdoor wedding ceremony, but all the places around our area were either already booked or way too much work! :(
So my mom and I got racking our brains for anyone we knew who had a nice backyard where we could have our ceremony. We considered our own backyard, which I thought would be so nice bc its where I grew up, but I live in an area of town that is very noisy and our neighbour, who is a young guy, doest have the tidiest backyard (our backyard is pretty private with fencing in a shrubs but you can still see over the shrubs to the neighbours yard). So then we thought of my Aunt and Uncles backyard. My aunt has been retired for the past 5 years and has spent her summers creating a beautiful garden that lines her entire backyard, and its also fenced in for privacy. It's very nice, but also a bit small. We figure we can fit about 250 chairs, and then we will also have a small white tent where the rest of the guests (probably 50 or less) will have to stand. Our ceremony is going to be short, only about a half an hour, so I don't think it's a problem to have some of the guests standing, especially when we figure the people standing will be the younger guests, our friends. We will be standing in the far corner of the yard (directly in the center of this picture) and the signing table will be in the corner opposit of that to the left (you cant see it in this picture). My aunt works so hard on her gardens so I think its also a nice way for her to ba able to show off her work :) She told me she is going to use different shades of purples and pinks in her garden next year to match my wedding colours! I told her I would help but i think we both know i'm no green thumb! haha! Im so thankful to her and my uncle for allowing us to use their backyard and for the work I know they are going to put into making it look beautiful! I added the best picture I could find from her facebook of her garden but i think it was taken a few years ago and the gardens have grown a lot since then...now they are even more full and colourful along the fence on the left! I'll add more pics in the future (next summer) when the gardens are looking their best again :) |

Ask a Question
WHO ALL WATCHED GENE SIMMONS' WEDDING???
Who all watched Gene Simmon's Family Jewels tonight?!
I personally love that family and I bawled through pretty much the whole episode :). They are finally married after 28 years!!! And i thought waiting 5 and a half years was excrutiating!!! I must say I wasn't too fond of Shannon's dress though...too much boob for a 50+ woman to be showing on her wedding day...or ever. lol. I also got goosebumps when their daughter Sophie sang "At Last" while they had their first dance!! What did you guys think? |

Wedding Dress
HELPPPP!!!! :'( so sad/confused
I'm going through the worst situation ever right now involving my dress. It's supposed to be the most exciting part but I'm living a nightmare :( I'm at the point where I don't even want to wear a dress, I'd rather just elope :'( (not actually, but its really upsetting me).
So as you know from my previous blog. I said yes to a dress. Well I also blogged that I was having doubts....they came BACK and I already put an $800.00 deposit on my dress!!!! :( My mom and sister are in LOVE with the dres, but I have been looking at pictures and watching the video we took of me trying on the dress and I just don't have that "love it" feeling anymore :( So I emailed the lady who owns the bridal salon and she put a hold on the order. Im going tomorrow night to try on the dress once more and see if the feelings come back (please pray that they do:( ). Well today I went and tried on some more dresses with my bridesmaid Jill, my sister, and my mom and I FELL IN LOVE WITH ANOTHER DRESS!! :( I just feel like its more waht I'm looking for. I feel SICK to my stomach. I am hoping and praying that I fall back in love with the original dress tomorrow night. So the most unfortunate part is that I already put $800.00 down on the dress. Im hoping that since she put the order on hold they haven't started making it yet and i can get, if not all, some of my deposit back. Anyone else go through anything similar?? I could really use some support right now.. :'( |

Honeymoon
I need IDEAS! :P Where are you planning your honeymoon?!
I was bored and browsing the internet for honeymoon options today! I really love the idea of Couples Swept AWay resort in Negril Jamaica! Friends of ours went a couple of years ago for thier honeymoon and loved it! I also really like the idea of going somewhere like Aruba or the St. Lucia! Do you girls have your honeymoons booked yet? Where are you going?
Also, I think FH and I will be going on a "mini moon" after our wedding since it will still be hot here and i'd rather save our "hot" vacation for the fall/winter weather when its colder! We will probly go somewhere like Vegas or Disney World for 3 or 4 days right after our wedding just to have a little vacation then save the big trip for the winter :) Anyone else doing a mini moon? Where are you girls all going?!?! I NEED IDEAS!! haha! |

Here are just a few of my ideas I have found for my hair and make-up. Im sure there will be many more posts about this in the future as I have 10 months to decide :)
The first hair style picture is my favourite style and the picture of carrie underwood is what i assume the front of the first picture would look like! The picture of Mila Kunis' make-up is exactly what i want for my wedding day...for now anyways :) |
