One of my biggest regrets from my wedding was not making my oldest sister a Matron of Honor and my closest-in-age sister my Maid of Honor.
It was instead someone who was my best friend at the time... but now only a little more than a year out from the wedding, has hardly spoken to me since. We haven't seen each other SINCE the wedding in July last year. :\
my maid of honour is my best friend of 20 years. we've been friends since kindergarten, we were room mates for 3 years and she absolutely sucks. she's told me she doesn't wanna throw me a shower, talk about wedding stuff or help with anything. sigh.
yikes here goes, my moh WAS my best guy friend. He was my man of honor haha, We were will & grace to the tee! but he started being really distant and later confided in me that he was jealous and just could be around me because I was happy & moving on and he felt like he was stuck behind, single & lonely. and that he wouldn't be attending the wedding because he wasnt in the right state of mind!!! Sadly we haven't spoke since then, so wrapping the story up my best girl friend will be taking over, she's wonderful, and the only reason I hadn't picked her as well is because she lives 3 hrs away so she cant be here always! but I have wonderful bridesmaids that are all pitching in!
I chose my very good friend whom I have known since I was 15. I just always knew she would be my MOH. She will also do a fantastic job of it. My little sister isn't upset since she is always so busy and hates planning stuff; she hardly even planned her own wedding (me and my mom did).
