Wedding Decoration
Hydrangeas are my new obsession

Originally I wanted to do carnation pomanders on square vases lining the aisle, but then I saw this pic (#1). I think it has a very similar effect and would probably be much cheaper to do. Plus, carnations don't really come in any color that I would want to use.

I think a ball of hydrangea (maybe 2 stems since they are full on their own) on a 5x5 vase would look great.

White?

Dark purple?

Magenta?

Burgundy?

Several colors?

I now love Hydrangeas as well!!! They are going to be our centrepieces. I wasn't originally too sold on them as I also wanted carnations but once my florist suggested hydrangeas and told me that I'd likely only need one stem or max two stems and the cost reduction of using these - I was definitely sold! We are using white because I feel like they have such an elegance to them! If you are using them along the aisle maybe you can alternate white and purple?

Check with your florist if it will be a better price. I think they're in season in the late summer, but they're kind of pricey. Of course, you need fewer of them because they're so big. But carnations are basically the cheapest flower you can get.
But I love hydrangeas. LOVE THEM. They're one of my favorites. :-D

i';m doing white hydrangeas...LOVE THEM!
my florist said that to do hydrangeas would be 20-30 per centrepiece... as opposed to 50-60 for carnations because you'd need so many more carnations to fill the same space.
Go for hydrangeas!
