The Proposal

A weekend away...

It was my birthday weekend and Chris had suprised me with a two night trip to Airlie Beach. I was so happy that he had thought of something like this for my birthday, rather than the usual dinner.

I had no idea what was planned for the day, and he even packed my bags for me! Our first stop was a day spa, where I had a two hour massage and body treatment. I was then picked up and whisked away to a sunset cruise around the Whitsundays, all the while thinking 'Why is he so sweaty? Why wont be sit down and relax?' Other than that, the cruise was perfect!

We moved on to a restaurant with a private table right on the ocean, where we had dinner. He was downing his beers pretty quick so I thought he must have been enjoying himself. He disappeared to go to pay the bill and when he came back, he said we should go stand in the gazebo which was nearby our table. I agreed, not thinking much about the offer. He turned a switch on and on came fairy lights all around the gazebo. A waitress came up behind me holding a purple box with a bow, he said it was my present. I was so suprised that I was getting more! I opened the box to find pink frangipanis on top of the crepe paper. I folded the paper back to see a black ring box and turned to him and found him on one knee.

I instantly started crying and shaking him! "Are you serious? Are you joking?" Probably not the response he wanted. He finally said 'Will you shut up so I can ask you'.

He prposed and I screamed yes!
