Wedding Hair Style
Hair trial... not happy

What to do....?? I don't have a hairdresser that I trust with my life here as we haven't been here that long. I was recommended to this lady at the salon I have been going to and was shocked I had to pay $115 for a trial! Like I was thinking between $65-85.

I wanted more height but because I couldn't see very good (glasses were off) when she was doing it I didn't/couldn't tell if it looked right. Like maybe it wasn't the right style for my hair but who knows.....

It doesn't look much like the picture and when I was giving the lady comments she was like offended. I don't like how the curls look like uniform blobs, she didn't even curl them she twisted them with her fingers then pinned. Picture 004 was taken 10 minutes after and its falling and looks stupid.

It wasn't until I got home and looked at the pictures did I realize how much I hate it.

Oh what to do???

Update....

I talked to a few people in the industry and they agreed that I should move salons or try to talk to the stylist. After the poor response I had from my feedback I wasn't confident the stylist would care how unhappy and worried I was. I was recommended to another salon and surprisingly they still had availability for my whole party and the price was right. On top of it they offer (recommend) free consultations with stylists and I met with Taylor yesterday and she listened and recommended and... I just feel so much better about this change. I picked my original salon based on location and proximity to my make-up and this salon is still very close. hanging up the style slightly and plan to have another trial at some point. Yippee the crisis is averted!!

I am the same way when it comes to my hair... I don't trust many people with it. Are there many other places you could go and maybe ask to see if they have photos of the hair they have done for other brides? because you do not want to go about paying that amount of money each time to see if you like the way they do hair.

Maybe talk to you current hairdresser and just say can you make it a little more fuller, if you have enough hair. My hair dresser friend tells me that hair extension or fillers could help to get the height and hold of the style.

Good luck.

If you don't like how it was done or what the finished product is, I'd look for a different stylist. Ask around-friends, co workers....the starbucks barista, if any of them would know a salon with a good reputation or a trendier salon. After that i'd visit the salons, talk with a couple stylists (A good indication would be how they look, their personal style, their hair, their make up-girls who tend to look like they really take care of themselves will want their clients to look great too!) and maybe they have a portfolio that you can take a look at to give you an idea of their work.

considering the ridiculous amount of money you paid to have it done, you should have walked out of that salon feeling like a princess. I paid 35 for my bridal style and my hair looked fabulous. my trial was also 35. What a ridiculous amount of money they asked her. For that kind of money you should have had her undivided attention and gotten top notch service with the curls you wanted until you were satisfied. If she can't provide you with the service you need for your wedding, then she isn't mean to be your stylist. To tell you the truth, I don't like your hair either. I can tell by your hair texture it should have been so easy for her to give you great curls with a curling iron, and yes you should have had more volume. The basic design of the hair looks like it would work for you great. You are also very pretty btw... and the picture you are showing us of HOW you wanted your hair to look... will look great with your face shape. I'd find a new salon and tell them your sob story. Bring them pictures. I'm sure you'll find someone who will treat you much better. *wink* good luck!

I had an awful hair trial too, but at least mine only cost $30!
Honestly, it sort of looks like you did it yourself. It's pretty, but definitely not worth $115.

Ya, if you were asking for height....SHE OBVIOUSLY WASN'T LISTENING. Wow.

For her to get offended when you made suggestions, and at $115 no less?

I would complain, and tell her salon that they lost your business. Find someone else. Sorry you had to pay so much though.

I would find a new hairdresser if possible.  if not then I would get her to fix the front like the picture.  it doesn't look like the picture you gave her.  i'm not fond of the side pieces that go towards your face.  the hair by your ear reminds me of an Orthodox Jewish man's sideburns.  Please don't take offense.  I just think you need the style to be closer to the picture.

OMG not to worry that's why you do a hair and makeup trial.  Now check with friends, family & coworkers and give another hairdresser a trial.  Good luck and stick to what you want for your day!

It is hard to take a pic and match it perfectly...but the hairdresser should of took the idea and tried to recreate it in a way that matched you. That hair looks a like a deflated baloon and sloppy in the front. I dont think it would stay up or look good in pics. I would not be impressed to pay that much just for a trial, but in the end its a good thing u had a trial as I would not go with her for your main day. I would keep looking!
