DIY Wedding Wands
See I have the bubles but I came across this looking around on the internet and I just thought I would share with someone looking for a alternate way of then throwing rice.
RIBBON WANDS Looking for a unique way to exit your ceremony or reception? Bells and bird seed are good options, but the visual element created by ribbon wands makes for exciting wedding photos! SUPPLIES All supplies can be purchased at a local craft and hardware store. This supply list makes 32-40 ribbon wands. Ribbon: 100 yards Purchase approximately 100 yards of thin inexpensive ribbon. Choose a color combination, or one solid color, that suits your needs. Additionally, if you want your ribbon wands to be fuller than those shown in the sample image, just add more ribbon. Dowel rods: 32-40 in 1/4" width Craft stores sell dowel rods at precut lengths in bags of 8-10. The 12" length makes for an ideal ribbon wand. While you can also purchase dowel rods at a hardware store, you will most likely have to cut them to your desired length. Paint Purchase one small bottle of craft paint in the color of your choice. The ribbon wands shown in the sample image were covered with a metallic pearl coating. For a simpler option, you can also leave them unfinished. Sponge brush Sandpaper: Fine grade Screw eyes: 40 in 214 x 13/16 size These can be difficult to screw into the head of each dowel, so use pliers after getting it started. Also, be gentle, as the wood can split. DIRECTIONS Using the sponge brush, paint all dowels. Stand them on end in holes punched in a piece of styrofoam to dry. After the wands have dried completely, gently sand them with fine grade sandpaper. Painting may roughen the surface, so sanding them will remove rough areas without removing the paint. Attach a screw eye to one end. Cut the ribbon into 15-20" lengths. Cut ribbon at an angle to avoid any fraying that might occur. Gather a total of 5-6 ribbons and slip through the screw eye. Tie in a nice, tight knot. HINT To ensure that your ribbon wands are used, add a note to your program encouraging guests to wave them as you head back down the aisle. SAMPLE IMAGES |

DIY Cake Monograms
I was looking at other DIY Brides and came accross something I have been wanting to do but didn't know how and thanks to jsfuturewife posts I will be doing this for my wedding cake. I Just couldn't spend 50.00 on a cake topper so thanks again for everything!!!
I love DIY PROJECTS!!!!! 4 Sheets of cardstock ( if you want to make it thicker you can use 6) * Scissors * Exacto Knife * Tweezers * Glue dots (the kind you can rub off) * GEM-TAC Glue - Artbeads.com * Aluminum Foil * 216 12ss Flat Back Swarvoski Crystals - Artbeads.com * 100 9ss Flat Back Swarvoski Crystals - Artbeads.com 1. Choose the type of font you want to use. I used Brock Script, the easiest way to achieve the desired size is by saving the image as a jpeg file and resizing it using Photoshop. I resized my image to 4.5 inches, which is what I noticed the majority of the monogram cake toppers were. After you have successfully resized your image print 4-6 copies depending on the thickness desired. 2. Cut out your letters using your scissors and very carefully using you exacto knife cut out any inside areas. Don't worry if they are not exactly the same, you will get a chance to fix them. 3. Now depending on the thickness desired, glue 2-3 letters stacked on top of each other, you should have 2 sets. Inspect your letters and make sure they are even, this is the time to use your exacto knife to trim any areas that seem uneven. You should end up with smooth edges all around. 4. Apply the removable glue dots to the front of one set and the back of the other. Cut two pieces of foil big enough to cover your monogram. Carefully place the foil on the same sides you applied the glue dots. Slowly press it down and smooth it out. To add a little texture I scratched the foil very lightly with my finger nail. 5. You are ready to trim the foil all round. Trim it around 1/8 of an inch, fold it back and glue it using a little bit of GEM-TAC but make sure you use a thin layer. Now, for the inside sections cut from the corners to the center using your exacto knife (see image below). You may need to do more trimming before you can fold back and glue the foil. Once you have glued all the edges glue both pieces together, you should end up with two seamless sides. 6. Now you have your canvas!, so let you inspiration take over! lol -You can glue your crystals using the GEM-TAC glue. The great thing about it is that it dries clear so even if it oozes a little you can't really tell after it dries |

Flower Girl 4 A Day
This is 2 cute, see I made 10 pomadores for the ceremony which I was originaly going to put outside and now that we are having my wedding at the church I had no where to put these. So when me and my Sister were talking she said how about we give these to all the little girls at the reception. So this is where I came up with this I decided with the wood I had left which was a couple of 2x2's and 2x4's I would make a stand and hang them with hooks so I measured 2 pieces out of the 2"x2" to 18"s each. Then I used the 2"x4" to be the brace of the hole thing so it doesn't fall over I measured 2 of them at 5" each. Then I measured 2 foot for the top cut all of them out and screwed them together. I spray painted them black and had my sister write out (FLOWERGIRL 4 A DAY)
So what do you think!!!!!! |

Ladies what do you think about the New clubhouse I built
I got alot of wood from my job for free and decided I was going to build my nephew and neice a club house for when they come over. Everyone keeps calling me bob the builder lol this little project was not hard but I picked the worst time to do it in houston the temperature has been topping the 100's the last couple of weeks so I would wait until 7ish to get out there and start on it. It took me 10 hours altogether to do it for 2 days, I was so proud of myself I thought maybe I can share it with you girls. I can't believe I did this by myself but since I have been doing all these DIY things I was like man I can probably do something more and my nephew has been bugging me for a club house at my house because they come over all the time. I named it the Bad Kidz Club
So ladies what do you think!!!!!!!! |

These are so easy to make OMG!!!!
This just cost me 11.00 but makes a wonderful difference
See I was looking a different pictures online and I came across these bad boys, and was like that looks real simple to make so I tried it. Materials you will need: I will update my photos when I get off of work today These materials make 4 signs 1 piece of 2"x2"x12' of wood 1 piece of 2"x6"x12' of wood 1 pices of 2"x4"x12' of wood Box of 3" screws Skill Saw (don't get nervous ladies it is not hard to do) A drill Tape measurer pencil Spray Paint it very's on how many you are doing White acrylic paint a small Paint brush to write your names, etc. See I work for a construction Company in the office and they are always giving away used materials, like wood, tee Posts, plants, pretty much everything when the job is done. With my lucky self I took the wood from work, they weren't used they were just extras we ordered. I already had screws from when I built my nephew & niece a club house in my backyard. My fiance had the drill, the skill saw and the tape measurer already thank goodness. The only thing I had to buy was the spray paint I got from walmart for .98 each I bought like 6 of them just in case also I got the white acrylic paint and the small paint brush all totaling under 11.00. How to do it: I wanted them to be 3 feet tall and 2.5 feet wide so with the 2x2 I used that as the stand and measured four 3 feet pieces and marked them off with the pencil and pulled out the skill saw and cut them where they were marked off at. Then with the 2x6 and the 2x4 I measured 2.5feet wide and cut them. I wanted to do the arrow like in the photo so I just guessed the angle and drew it out on the 2x6 with the pencil and cut. Now you screw the 2x6 on the top of the 2x2 and below that space out about 2 inches from eachother screw the 2x4 in to the 2x2 but make sure you know which way you want your arrow facing. Then I spray painted black and let dry and my sister has realy good handrighting so she freestyled it with a crayon and painted over it with the acrylic paint. Let me tell you one thing it took me 30 minutes to do..... Ladies dont be scared of the tools its real simple and cheaper to DIY!!!! |

OMG free DIY ideas and templates
I will be using this idea for my wedding since I am doing green accents I will be using limes and white flowers, A bottle of icy vodka makes a dramatic bar decoration when it's encased in a frozen layer of colorful flowers and fruit. Here is the instructions on how to do it.
Place a full bottle into a fully opened cardboard half-gallon milk carton. Insert flowers or thinly sliced fruit (we've used nasturtiums, lemons, and limes) around the bottle, filling one third of the carton. Pour water into the container, just covering the fruit and flowers. Place the carton upright in the freezer. When the liquid is completely frozen, add another layer of fruit and very cold water, and freeze. Repeat, filling and freezing a third of the carton at a time, which prevents all the fruit and flowers from floating to the top until the water reaches the bottle's neck. Remove from the freezer when it's time to serve the vodka: Cut away the milk carton with a utility knife; wrap a dinner napkin around the bottle's base, and serve the vodka with slices of lemon zest tied in knots We'll ladies here is the website http://www.i-do-it-yourself.com/ Happy Planning!!!!!!!!!!! |
