First dress I HAVE tried on...
The one I want from DB!
Wedding Dress
What to do?! Which to choose!?
Ok... Well, as mentioned in my last post, I found "the dress", only it's going to to toooo thick and heavy for my outdoor, beach, summer wedding. I would DIE, simply put. I'm a very small girl, and it doesn't take much for me to get too hot or too cold.

The dress I'm talking about here is the first dress. It's actually a prom dress, but I found it in ivory at my local bridal shop, and for an awesome price too. It fit everywhere in the right places and I just fell in love with it!

BUT, there's a gown at David's Bridal that I've wanted from Day 1. It's perfect in every way, and as soon as I can, I will be going to the store three hours away to go try it on. I love it so much, and it's so much lighter and cheaper, and all the reviews on the site about it say it's perfect for a beach wedding.
I just hope it looks as good on me as it does the model.

What do you guys think? I haven't tried the second one on yet, but say I loved both of them, which would you think to be the better choice for my ceremony???

Wedding Dress
Help!
So we went wedding dress shopping, and unexpectedly, found the "one". It's perfect in every sense!

But, the thing is... We are having a beach wedding and this dress is a ball gown that is slightly thick.

Just wondering what everyone thought about this... The wedding will be in the evening, but Texas humidity is awful, and I don't want to be miserable at my wedding...

Thoughts? Suggestions??

Inspiration Board
Beach!
So, here's the inspiration board I came up with in the 15 spare miutes I had the other day. Not exactly perfect, or what I was planning for, but it turned out quite nicely for having been done so quickly, I think. =)

What do you think?

Flowers
Fake?
Is there anything wrong with preferring fake flowers over the real deal? It seems so much less of a hassle than the aforementioned. This way, also, I can make the bouquets myself and be sure to get exactly what I want.

That's not terribly tacky, is it? I've never thought anything wrong with it, but the more I look around, the more I see brides not even considering it.

I went browsing for them at Hobby Lobby and Walmart (Spare me the jokes. I love Walmart.), and it seemed so much more reasonable for my price range and for my tastes.

Any thoughts?

Change in scheme=Change in dresses!
Ah, so along with my new color scheme, I had to pick new dresses for my BMs!!

I finally looked on ariadresses.com, and was VERY happy with what I saw. Plus the little section labeled "album" with real pics with girls in dresses assured me that they weren't abnormally good looking on the model and not in real life.

Here's just a few of the dresses I liked. This is just on aria.com, but there are a few on jcp.com I like that I'll add later. All of these would also be in silver, not the color that's shown.

Oh My God!!! Look at those gas prices!!
Long Time, No Post!!
Updates, updates, updates!
Wow, has it been forever! Mainly because between college and work, I have had virtually NO free time. It's either working working working or homework homework homework!!!

Thank goodness for the slight break I have right now... =P

Well, a lot has happened recently. I've had to do some seriouse re-hashing on my BM situation, and I've been doing a lot of thinking about the actual wedding/colors/BM dresses, etc.

Also, after a talk with my fiance, we decided to ask one of my best friends, who is actually a guy, to be a BM. We discussed this a lot, because, obviously, this is NOT traditional, and both of our families will definitely throw some serious drama around on it. But, he has been a better friend to not only me, but both of us, than most of my other attendants. So we asked him. He agreed. That's the final lay-down.

I'm really thinking about skimping on naming an MOH. It's too much drama, really. And because of some huge simplifications on the wedding, it will not be necessary. My BMs will be more than enough help. =D

Now to the wedding. June 14, 2009 is still the date, of course. Still on the beach. Still a ridiculously small ceremony. Still casual.

The colors, however, I'm beginning to re-think a little. Especially the black, since it will be a nighttime affair.

What I've considered is changing the black to silver. I found amazingly cute cocktail dresses in silver, which I think will look fabulous on all my attendants. (Excluding Blake, of course, who will be wearing whatever Randy's GMs are wearing.) Also, I'm loving the thought of a little metallic flair against the beach water and the sand.
But, because of this, I'm also re-thinking the pink, orange, and yellow. I'm not quite sure what it's going to look like. I cannot find pics on the internet, so I'm not certain... What would be some bright colors to compliment the silver?

Next, we have been thinking about guests, and downsizing again. Mainly to attendants and parents. Truthfully, both of us felt terrible about asking our guests, especially our elderly g-parents to travel that far. So, instead, we are considering having the ceremony at the beach, like we wanted. Then, to travel back home for a couple days before the honeymoon and have a party, to which we will invite the guests. Kind of like a late reception, minus the garter throwing, bouquet toss, ect. Who knows? We may cave in and get a cake for the guests, since we don't exactly like sweets.

Ah, feedback appreciated! I need ideas and advice! Hehe!

I just get more and more excited about this every day. It's really unbelievable just how much I adore him... <3

Aren't they cute?
Maybe this one too, but it may be too much for such a casual affair...
Shoes
Or not...
Ok... I'm not loving the idea of wearing heels on the beach. And I will not make my BMs to do so either. But, then again, I do not love the idea of flip flops either. I was thinnking barefoot would be okay, but then I ran across these awesome little trinkets.

I'm thinking everyone wearing little sundresses with beachy windblown hair and these in replacement of shoes. Plus, wouldn't they make a great little BM gift as well? ??

Le Top...

Ring
Bam Baby!
Oh, yeah, Baby!

First things first... I did not want a diamond ring... I wanted aquamarine...
Why? Because I am obsessed with water. Lakes, beaches, ponds, rain... You name it.
And, of course, aquamarine symbolizes water. Put two and two together here... Ta Da!

Also, aquamarine is lored to ensure blissful marriage and security. Sailors used to put it under their pillows at night to ensure safe journeys. It is also lored to have formed in mermaids' sea chests.

Yeah, I know. It's all a load of crock.
But I couldn't help it.

I know a diamond ring would not mean as much to me...

And, I nearly choked when the jeweler(?) sized my finger. I know I'm a small girl, but the ring had to be sized to a four! Mother of Noah!

But anyways...

I am in love with this ring. Randy has been so amazing to me, and he loves it too.

I am so happy. =]

Hair Style
my pride and joy
Ok, so, I hate up-dos. With a passion. Why? I don't know. But I do.
So, the look I'm going for is [looooong] and [floooooowy] and [cuuuuurly] and [yeah].
As of now, however, because of a quick decision, my hair just barely touches my collar. Maybe by June 14, 2009, it will be long again though. =] Hopefully, anyways.

Also, hopefully, my hair will be the normal dark [dark] brown again. i went a little crazy this summer and went through like 6 haircolors and now I'm like a human crayon box. ha.

yep yep.

yay!

The Proposal
Taking My Breath Away
Okay, so it wasn't at the end of a horse-drawn carriage ride, or in a fancy restaurant or anything like that. It was, however, so much more personal to me.

I work at JCPenney in the local mall, and consequently, spend pretty much every waking minute there. And, yes, I can honestly say that I love my job. Yay for me! =]

I also have this complete obsession with rain. Love it, love it, love it. Yep.

So, knowing the background...

He had gone to "Gamestop" to look at some kind of game while I was getting my nails done in the salon. [red tips! woo hoo!] Near the end of the forty-five minutes it took to get them done, he showed up and sat with me while the salonist [?] finished.

We left and walked toward JCPenney [at the complete opposite side of the mall], because we had parked there.
So, there are these benches right outside the store. We got closer to them, and he asked me if I would sit down.
Being the "go-go-go" person I am, I was hesitant.
But he kept pushing, so I gave in and sat on the bench. [Why did I sit? Because Randy is a full foot and a couple inches taller than me.]

The next thing I know, he's down on one knee, pulling a box out of his pocket.

I nearly fainted. It was really not expected.

So, then the inevitable, "Will you marry me?"

I gave him the biggest hug I could possibly ever give. Even so, though, after a few minutes, he asked, just to be sure, "Was that a yes?"

I replied, "Of course."

Next arrived many conratulations, and pats on the back, and I believe I remember one or two catcalls.

And when we finally made it outside to go to the truck, guess what?

It was raining.

So, to end the story...
