girl you are preaching to the choir! I feel ya on all of that! but we gonna be ok and whatever dont get done wont get done! I was looking at Bridezilla the other night and she could NOT pay for her photos so she had no photographer and she owed him 1500! This is on the day of the wedding she had no MORE money! When I win the lottery Imma pay for both of our weddings! All I can do now is ctfu!

Are there any ways to cut corners? What are the major things you can't afford right now? Sometimes there's a good diy way around it. Ask for ideas for some things.

I am with hannikay, you really have to look at what is important.

What is most important? and what can you live without?  Maybe think of having the "dream" what I can afford right now wedding, and then have the grand reception on your 5 year anniversary, start a savings immediately after the wedding in an account neither of you can see and have it for direct deposit.  Then whatever you have in 5 years is your budget for your reception.

For now. . . . on a scale of 1-10 how important is . . .

a new dress?
that your guest eat?
what your guest eat?
the look of the cake?
location?
open bar?
alcohol?
flowers?
a wedding party?
a dj?
your hair being prof done?
centerpieces?
chaircovers?
limo transportation?
photographer?
videographer?

That is all I can think of right now, but let me know and we will work this budget out :).  Hopefully we can find the not so important things and tweek them and find a way to do the important things a better price :).

Thanks ladis so much all this is new to me and i bought my centerpieces already i made my card box my ring pillow and so far im gonna start my programs  im about 3,000 short i dont know how this happened i think im gonna work a second job on the weekend maybe that will help and omg i dont know what else im gonna think about whats important and not and hope i win the lotto soon lolbut i will pray i can say that. thanks so much any more ideas plz tell me

Rmmharrison had a good point. On a scale of 1-10 how important are certain things? In my opinion things such as a wedding planner, photographer, and videographer may be able to be deleted, Well not exactly deleted but diyed per say. Get frieends and family to help you with that stuff. Another suggestion I would give you is to SEARCH SEARCH SEARCH everywhere for any bargain that may help. Do you talk to your co-workers?? After having  normal conversations with some of my co-workers I found out they have some helpful hobbies. One person used to be a caterer, and another one used to do professional programs. And when I mentioned I was getting married so they were more than happy to try and help lend their services. You never know! :)

Don't just buy from the first person that can sell you what you want. Like mzbrownn said, do LOTS of researching, 2nd hand shopping etc and ASK people where they got their's done, or if they know anyone who can do things cheaper etc.
