Wedding Reception
Table numbers
Okay..some people might think im weird for doing this but my cats mean so much to me and I wanted to incorporate them SOMEHOW! so I am making table numbers similar to the one pictured and using pictures of the cats on them. I got to dress my cats (petrie and bella) in a bride and groom outfit and take pictures.....they didn't like it that much but they look so ADORABLE!

Wedding Invitation
Printed Our Own!
My brother in law was supposed to custom make our invites like he did our save the dates but he didn't have time to finish them with our deadline. I was very disappointed but we ended up going with the black and white invites from Michael's Craft Store and saving us a couple hundred dollars.
It took us a whole day to print everything and assemble 115 invitations. It was tedious to tie all those bows and stuff each envelope but I had my fiancee, my grandma and one of my bridesmaids helping! The invitations came out really nice! we were able to incorporate some red on the wording and instead of using the black ribbon it came with we cut our own red ribbon. Bridal shower next week! Can't wait! |

DIY Wedding
Pomanders & Unity Candle
Started my DIY projects...the unity candle was so easy to do and so was the pomander but it was kind of time consuming.
The pomander was made out of tissue paper. I followed instructions that i found online. They were pretty easy to follow. I think they will look nice hanging from the side of the pews in the church. I just hope they won't look tacky since I used tissue paper. |

Honeymoon
Cozumel, Mexico!!
My FH just booked our honeymoon to Cozumel, Mexico. I have never been to mexico but it looks beautiful and I have heard such wonderful things about it (besides the drug wars of course).
We are staying in a nice adults only resort..all inclusive...should be a nice well deserved treat! If any of you brides have ever been, please leave some suggestions for places to go or see or places to eat or any advice for us! This is the first time leaving the country for the both of us...we just applied for our passports last week. Thanks! |

Wedding Accessories
Got a new veil!
I have been searching high and low for a new wedding veil because the one I originally bought was an impulse buy because it was the veil that I had tried on with my dress when I bought it.
It was a one tier, beaded, fingertip veil. I eventually decided that I wanted a blusher and a longer veil but I couldn't find any that I liked so I decided to get it custom made. I ordered my custom veil from a very talented lady, and I couldn't have asked for a better made veil for such a great price! I got a chapel length (90") 2 tiered (elbow length) veil, cut edge, for $35!!!DEAL!!! I just received my veil in the mail and its simple...just a cut edge...but i think it will be perfect. I can't wait to see what it looks like with my dress on! I will post pics when I can, but its at my parents house right now. I will be selling my old veil though! So if you are interested let me know. Just thought i would share the link to the Etsy seller for those still searching for their perfect veil. http://www.etsy.com/shop/abusymother |

DIY Wedding
Water Bottle Labels
I came across a template for labels that you can design yourself and put on water bottles. I thought this was the cutest idea! It would be great to give to our bridal party and our OOT guests. Its just one of those little details that can personalize your day!
i found the template here: http://ruffledblog.com/2009/04/entry-25-diy-water-bottle-labels/ Using the designs on the template I was able to change the colors and the names/dates to make them my own. It was pretty easy! |

[Update] Four Months to Go!
Stress level through the roof!
Just thought i'd give an update on the wedding planning since today begins the 4 month countdown to my big day!
My FH and I have been spending like the last month or two seriously looking for a photographer. I have been to a few bridal shows and talked to tons of photographers but we struggled to find a photographer that fit our needs AND our budget. We narrowed down our photographers and finally we were like Okay we want this guy for sure so we called him to get some references because i believe that references are VERY important. When my FH called and asked for a couple references the guy was like "well i dont think i can do your wedding" and didn't really explain why but tried giving us the "well i dont think im available" when it clearly says on his website that our date is open. My FH thinks he just didnt want to give us references so we were like whatever, forget him. Anyways, to make a long story short, we freaked out for a second then I remembered a photographer that i met at one of the bridal shows that was offering a great deal on one of their packages that fit our budget. We gave them a call and we quickly got two great references so today my FH called and reserved our date! **SIGH** what a relief! BUT there's still a dilemma that i'm dealing with at the moment... last sunday, I sent out an email to all my bridesmaids reminding them that next week is their deadline to order their dresses. Well on Tuesday I got a text from my pregnant bridesmaid saying that she really wants to be in the wedding (we have been friends since the 3rd grade) but she just doesn't think she will be comfortable in the dress I picked out for the bridesmaids. WTF. Now remember, I spent my precious time and took her to Davids bridal to try on the dress, which we tried on with a pillow. (See previous posts) She had the dress on for a long time, since we had to wait to talk to the alterations lady to give us her opinion and during that WHOLE time she didn't say anything. She told me she liked the dress and that she wouldn't mind wearing it. NOW she has changed her mind??? SERIOUSLY??? Well its obviously too late to look for a different dress because the other bridesmaids have ordered their dresses. I called my MOH and talked to her about it and basically we decided that she will still be apart of my day (as a guest of honor). I think at 7 months pregnant, she will not be comfortable in heels and a short dress standing up on the alter for a half hour or so anyways so instead im going to ask her if she would like to be in charge of handing out the programs, the bubbles, be in charge of the guest book, little things like that. There she can still feel apart of my day and she can do it sitting down and where whatever she wants. I called her today and left a voice mail asking to talk so hopefully she will call me back tonight. If she agrees then I will call another friend and ask her to be my bridesmaid. at this point i don't care who is up there as long as my fiancee and my sister is up there. I think thats enough rambling for today. There are a few big things that i still need to do: 1) finalize invitation design 2) order cake 3) book florist PS...I get to see my fiancee in 3 weeks! Spring break in 4 weeks! |

Wedding Cake
Fireman cake topper
So I have been on the search for the perfect cake topper...and I think I found it! Its a little pricy but its perfect because its a firefighter and a teacher! (which if you cant figure it out, the fiancee is a firefighter and i will be a teacher!) Its made out of glass, and although the picture has a gold trim, I can order it with a silver trim.. I'm not sure if this is what I will pick for sure, but I do think its pretty cool! What kind bothers me about this cake topper is that the groom is a lot bigger then the bride!???
I also found some other ones which some are kinda funny but I just don't know how i feel about them because they are kinda weird looking. Another Idea I had was to have a maltese cross as our cake topper. |

Orange Slice Jello Shots
To all you jello shot lovers out there...
So this is a random post but i had to share this with someone! i've been kind of addicted to stumbleupon.com and well I came across this website that filled orange slices with orange jello and vodka! This might be old news to some but i have never seen this before and i think its sooooooo cool. I won't be using it for my wedding because oranges have nothing to do with my colors or theme but defiantly using it for SPRING BREAK!!
http://www.foodnetwork.ca/recipes/recipe.html?dishid=6412 But I will be doing red jello shots for the dollar dance, so this will include cherry and strawberry flavors, which are my faves!! I love jello (especially if it has vodka in it)!!!!!!!!!! |
