Ask a Question
Is it considered 'tacky" to put where you are registered in with your wedding invitations? My friends all tell me I should so people know what to get me..but I've heard from other people it's not proper wedding etiquette..so I was wondering what you all thought!

When do I send out my invites??
Okay so i have my invites but I am not sure when to send them out! I have my RSVP date for April 25..now I realize that is a bit soon seeing as my wedding is June 6th but I wanted to have a ballpark figure so I'd know what to tell the caterer, cake-maker, yada yada yada..so when do you think I should send the invites out?? Mid-March and more towards the end of the month or earlier?

Wedding night arrangements...
I have two wonderful beagles..Dexter and Taytum. My dilemma is that on our wedding night we are staying in a hotel and we have no idea what to do with our dogs! I don't really want to leave them at home alone but all of my family members and friends will be at the wedding and the reception. I want them to be taken care of and be safe! Any ideas?

Wedding Cake
Well we have a few ideas for wedding cakes and we can't seem to decide on one..I think we have ruled out the one with the fountain..we both like the round cakes that are stacked..I am trying to decide what to do with the second cake..I love that it says happily ever after all the way around it..but i don't really care for the mickey mouse ears, so I need some ideas about what to do with the other two layers..I thought about putting our names on one layer and maybe our wedding date on the other..but I can't decide..anyone have any ideas??

Groomsmen Gifts
My fiance and I have been trying to figure out what to get the groomsmen...We thought about a personalized mug or flask..but most of them are farmers and something like that just isn't "them". Do any of you have any ideas of something they would all like that's inexpensive???

The Proposal!
Before I get into the juicy details let me give you a little background info. The day after Thanksgiving Chris took my best friend Teddi to a local jewelry store. He knew what kind of ring I wanted but he knew he'd be getting the PERFECT ring if he took my best friend because she knew me best. The jeweler was going to charge him more for a smaller carat but Zales had the exact same ring with a bigger carat for the same price. Teddi begged Chris to look around some more but Chris wanted to buy a ring THAT day. So Teddi haggled with the jeweler and got him to match the zales price. So the ring was ordered that day..Chris met my dad the following thursday (November 29 to be exact :)) and asked him for my hand. So yeah that whole week was pretty stressful for him..
Anyway he asked me on a carriage ride through the plaza with all the pretty lights. It was AMAZING! I dont normally like surprises but this one was great! |

Our Story
Chris and I started dating in March 2007. We were set up on a blind date by our mutual friend Samantha. Now I'm not gonna lie ladies I was a little nervous...I hadn't been on a date in well it seemed like forever and well it being a blind date made it even scarier! I told myself whatever happened, happened if he was Mr. Right then great if not oh well I got a free meal and I got to see Wild Hogs.
Well I met him at Samantha's house at 7pm. He picked me up in his CLEAN ford pick up and took me to a local Mexican restaurant, La Bonitas. He was a total gentlemen opening the doors for me and all that stuff. I definitely wasn't used to that! Dinner was really good. The food, the service the flow of conversation, it was all great! There was never one of those weird awkward silent moments, ya know where you're like so...now what? After dinner we still had a good hour before the movie started so we went to Wal-Mart...yeah kind of lame but hey we live in a small town where there's not alot to do..so wal-mart was the next best thing. We wandered around and talked..played with the toys..just normal stuff. After our wal-mart adventure we headed to the Hangar. Of course during a movie you really can't talk so this is where the story kinda slows down but don't worry it picks right back up again! Midway through the movie I noticed Chris was fidgiting alot. I thought nothing of it and continued watching the movie. Out of the corner of my eye I see him stretching his hand out like he really wants to reach for mine but he really wasn't sure. I couldn't help but chuckle to myself, it was the cutest thing I'd ever seen...okay so not the cutest but pretty cute. Needless to say he did grab my hand at the end of the movie! I let him hold it to the car though, that way it wasn't a total waste..lol The movie was great, really funny. We both really enjoyed it. After the movie we went driving around in his pick up. We drove around and talked about anything and everything. He took me up to his brother's farm and we got out and walked around the pasture under the stars just talking, it was amazing. I had never felt as comfortable with anyone as I did with him. When he dropped me off that night, and we shared our first kiss (oooh!) I knew he was something special. That night I couldn't sleep..the events of the evening kept running through my head and I couldn't stop smiling. After eight and a half months of dating Chris popped the question..now this story is a good one...soo good I'm gonna put it in another post! |
