I only discovered WBC yesterday, and I'm already hooked. Being an artist, color is very important to me and I've been searching for great online places to browse by wedding colors. After my initial excitement, I quickly found myself sucked into the community WBC offers brides.
So here I am, starting my own wedding blog!
A brief summary of myself: I have been dating my high school sweetheart for over 5.5 years, and on December 3, 2009 he popped the question. We both recently graduated college and are very excited to see where the road takes us together. Our wedding date is tentatively set for June 17 or 18, 2009. We plan on using black and white (possibly damask) with one or two bright accent colors. My FH is Japanese American and I have always been a fan of Japanese art, so we are going to have a subtle Asian influence in the decor. Still working on the kinks in my mind to make sure everything flows.
I am a freelance illustrator and designer (
http://www.lullafly.com ) so I'm psyched to design my invitations and work on DIY decor projects. Right now, though, my bigest challenge is settling on a color scheme. I LOVE color. Lovelovelovelove. And loving color, I am in love with so many combinations. So it's going to be really hard to choose. To help my FH visualize them, and to allow alleviate my urge to use them all I'm focusing on making color inspiration boards.
This is the first of several, focusing in blue/teal and orange with damask accents.
Secondly, you're my date twin (hopefully! The Mr., and I haven't quite started booking anything, but June 18th is the date I've had in the back of my mind since we began discussing dates in '08), as well as my colour/theme twin.. girl, you've got some good taste! LOL! All joking aside, right now I'm stuck on damask, and teal, but I wasn't sure if I should pair it with another colour, or not (I'm thinking soft pastels for florals, maybe). The orange is gorgeous, though.
I can't wait to see what else you've got up your sleeve! :]
I thought about using damask and only one other color, but I love bright colors too much to not have two. :D My next boards are going to include b&w damask/teal/lime green and b&w damask/magenta/blue, so maybe you'll find you like one of those, too. I'm planning on using vibrant colors over pastels, though.
Happy Wedding Planning!
I can't wait to see your other boards.. I'm excited now, haha.
