!!!!!!!!!WE'RE MARRIED!!!!!!!!
Sorry it has taken so long to let you all know how the big day went. I havent been able to post any pictures the photographer took (thats another day) but luckily a friend that was at the wedding took plenty of pictures.

Well i have to say it was the funnest day of my life. It was windy....very very very windy.....and it rained....in the middle of the ceremony....and we all had to go inside. But it was still the best day of my life. We both had so much fun. I had told myself that if it rained it would ruin our day but it honestly didnt. I wish i could post the pictures the photographer got because later in the evening we took some sunset pictures that were utterly breathtaking.

Everything besides the wind and rain of course, turned out exactly as i had pictured it. I loved every color and every flower...i must say...i've got good taste haha.

Engagement Pics!!!
So our my future mother-in-law has done photography and took our engagement pictures for us. Here are a few....

It was fun to do...for about 5 minutes. haha. It was a mini session of what the whole day wil be like so i doubt either of us will enjoy the picture taking...just not a photogenic person. He is...not me.

How many of you have chosen to do engagement pictures??

My sis-in-law gave me a good idea to use one of the pictures for a frame and have people sign around the frame instead of a traditional guest book. Still tossing that one around.

20 days!!! :) :) :)

PS...we got our license the other day...that was interesting. We had to swear we did not have syphilis......ya, i dont get it either..haha...

Invitation
stamps...oh the stamps....
Mailed the invites last week and i'm starting to recieve the response cards back already (they have until May 10th). Word to the wise, use the forever stamps, because postage is going up may 12th and that would be a bad thing if you had the wrong postage on them.

oh its getting closer.....less than 6 weeks and i'll be married....a wife....i fully believe it will be the best day...

Wedding is going to be outside so we're crossing our fingers for beautiful weather. heres the place.....

6 weeks from today i'll be on the beach...thats comforting :)

Bridesmaids
We picked out the bridesmaids dresses the other day. They are adorable. Gathered skirts with sleeveless strappy tops. 3 of my girls will be wearing dark pink dresses (Davids bridal called it "watermelon" but its way darker than watermelon) with a light pink sash and my maid of honor will be wearing light pink with a dark pink sash. It looks so cute!!

Honeymoon
So we booked our honeymoon the other day and i can't tell you how excited i am. Haven't been on a beach vacation in almost 5 years! We had originally planned for Cancun, Mexico but couldn't find any hotels and airfare that fit our budget. But we are staying at an island close by called Rivera Maya. Our travel agent says this is a much calmer version of mexico..which is fine. Its our honeymoon, we don't plan on doing much partying..more relaxing. Not only that but we got a great deal on a 5 star hotel that just opened. The perks of this hotel are just amazing...

9 restaurants, 4 pools, jacuzzi tub and plasma tv's in the rooms and so much more. I'll make sure i let you all know how our vaca went. But look at the pic!

I just cant wait!!!

Invitation
So, i went and bought the invitations brought them home and printed them...looked TERRIBLE!

BUT...i took them to a printing company (look in the phone book..thats what i did) and they printed them for $.15 a piece (for 100 this ended up being $15) and they look fabulous! for a fraction of the cost!. the total for everything will be $70.

So give it try!

Invitation
......oh the dilemma!
As the tab for our wedding continues to grow, i've really started to come up with ways of cutting costs. I recently picked out the most BEAUTIFUL invitations at www.theamericanwedding.com. Believe me the prices are much more resonable than any other place. However, the price was still going to be around $200. I personally, couldnt justify spending so much on something people will look at once and throw in the trash.

So...i started looking at do it yourself inviation kits. Now, don't throw ur lil noses in the air yet. I did the same thing ladies..."do-it-yourself..how tacky!" or "when will i have time for that?!"

Those are things i said as well but when the tab is nearly $8,000..you start looking for ways to get around stuff. Plus, my sis-in-law did this for my brothers wedding..lemme tell you, i never knew she did until months after the wedding. Doesn't look like your 5 yr old did it in kindergardens arts and crafts time...i promise. Walmart actually has invitation kits for around $60 for 50. Pretty reasonable i think and their cute too...take a look....

And you get so much with it...all i'm sayin is give it try! what could hurt?

Ring
His and hers....
We went and purchased our wedding bands the other day. That was fun..not as fun as picking out the engagement ring but still fun. I began to realize just how picky i am. We were at one store for almost an hour...johnny found his in about 5 seconds.

I hear that the tungsten rings are nice because they never scratch or bend. The lady at the store told us that i they can shatter though. because its just all too often that you find yourself in a situation where your ring could possibly shatter...right?? I thought that carbon fiber inlay was a neat little touch and it just figures he would pick that out..its totally him.

The second picture is somewhat similar to mine. The bands on mine are MUCH thinner. I've got wider hands and wide bands seem to give the illusion of my hands being even widder and thats not what i want it to look like!!

Flowers
Officially ordered my flowers the other day. So, its kinda obvious that i love pink and why wouldn't it be my wedding colors? That being said, my bridesmaids dresses are pink, groomsmen have matching pink vests and ties with pink boutineers.Because i wanted two shades of pink this how i did it.....

Maid of honor- shes is the special lady so she gets to look a little different than the others. She is wearing a baby pink shaded, halter dress with DARK pink flowers.

Others- This includes my three other ladies as well as my junior bridesmaid. They will be wearing a dark pink halter dress with LIGHT pink flowers.

See where im goin with this? Everything will be opposite. Then the boutineers for the guys will match their corresponding ladies' bouquet(ie. maid of honor will have dark flowers so best man will have a dark flower boutineer)

It sounds confusing but i have vision in my head of what i want this to look like. In my head it looks so adorable!!

Hope this gives you ladies an idea too!!

PS. oh yea, and for my bouquet it will be light AND dark roses with a few white mixed in

Cake
sooooo yea....
So i went and picked out my cake the other day. That was interesting. Although some feel cake is the last thing on their mind, i feel as though the cake is little accent to your wedding. It adds to the atmosphere of the occation and gives your guests a little sweet "thank you" at the end of the wedding. One of my fav parts of going to a wedding.

This brings me to my next point...cake toppers. i feel they are totally traditional and i dont knock those who want to give it a try BUT i have decided this..a monogram cake topper. Doing some research on the internet landed me at some pretty reasonably priced websites that will offer monogram cake toppers. They look adorable on top of a cake!!! Look em up....give a try....

DJs
so many to choose from...
So in my quest to find a dj for "d-day" as i like to call it now, i noticed something. Some djs are priced at $800 and some at $300. Why the big difference i ask? Am i getting more for the $800 dj than i am with the $300 dj? So i asked...and this is the feedback i got....

When i asked a dj what the difference in price could indicate he tells me that the more money you spend on a dj, the more experiance, crowd interaction, bigger song list you get. And since the DJ is supposed to be the "icing" on your wedding day, why not spend a few hundred dollors on a dj? besides, i dont think i'd want an elivis impersonator attemping to harrass my guests and further add to the headache that will likely accumulate from the days stresses. I'll go with the safe guy.....

Flowers
I noticed that flowers, no matter where you get them from, are going to cost you a pretty penny for your wedding. Its one of those things that you almost have to go the extra mile with and spend a little more...sometimes....

So i was sitting and thinking of anyway to get around spending hundreds of dollars on something that will be dead by the time we get back from our honeymoon. And this is what i came up with....

1. Fake flowers- i know what your thinking. "Thats nothig new." To be honest i never thought about it because i just never even thought that i could consider that. You can tell their fake from a mile away and they have no smelll...or so i thought. Fake flowers actually only look that way when viewed from up close..i mean in your face close. And they last forever! So, if this a possible route for you..give a try..or least consider it in your consultation.

2. Arranging your own- This is what i have come to learn about flowers...its the labor to arrange them that cost the most..not so much the flowers. You save big bucks when you order the flowers and arrange them yourself. And there are plenty of do-it-yourself websites, magazines and books out there to assist you in that. Not only that, but its an excellent bonding time for you and your bridesmaids!!

3. Paper Mache- i guess paper mache could be in the same category as fake flowers but this is a little different in my opinion. While they dont take the shape of your traditional looking rose, it can be a colorful way of spicing up your wedding. Lets be honest gals, from afar, who the hell knows what those flowers could be. You could be holding a midget in your hands for all anyone knows...well, maybe thats a little far fetched. But you get my point..right? Anywho, its worth a try. Even if you have to spend .99 at target on paper mache to attempt it.

Hope something was helpful!!!

Decoration
centerpieces
I found out a new tip the other day..thought i would share. If the the banquet hall where your reception is does not offer centerpieces in the price and you don't like the idea of buying 30 centerpieces and shoving them off on your family after the night is over..rent them. My fiance's sister said she rented big bowls filled them with water, floating candles and rose petals and the whole thing cost $100. A lot cheaper than buying them all and nice thing is...you get to send them back at the end of the night. :)

The Proposal
2 weeks later...
Hello my fellow bridzillas!..well, thats what we've become tho, right? or maybe i'm speaking for myself. Its now two weeks since he proposed and i'm truly overwelmed. Maybe i should reverse time two weeks and tell you all how he popped the question....

So, its a monday and johnny calls me to tell me that we would be going for a nice dinner out in cleveland this weekend with his sister and her husband. Lemme tell you i was so excited to get out and have a nice dinner away from home for once. And so friday rolls around and i show up at his sisters house to leave from there and johnny is just in one of his moods and doesnt want to talk. So i let him be. We arrive in cleveland and soon to my surprise i find out that its a dinner cruise of clevleand on a yacht!! How much fun is that? The evening was spent laughing and giggling about times past and just how shocking it is to see a different side of cleveland. Its nearing the end of the night and the sun was setting and the lights of the city have come alive. Johnny and i decide to take a stroll to the front of the boat. Take one more drink of the city before we make our 2 hour car ride home. And there we are...standing there...watching the sun slowly descend and before i knew it he was down on his knee..asking me..deanna..to be..his partner in crime..the peanut butter to his jelly...to be his co-piolit on this plane of crazy...to be at his side for the rest of my life...to be his wife. Shock has completely overcome me at this point seeing as how i knew nothing about this. I think i was breathing so heavy i wasn't even paying attention to what he was saying. I realized that i never said yes. And then i said it 3 times in a row to make up for that.

I'll tell you...its really one of those moments you anticipate experiencing in your life and it truly is something you never forget. I remember every square inch of that evening and i will for the rest of my life.

Well in the two weeks since, we've managed to book a place..but i think we've changed our mind and we might be booking with someone else...ahh..crazy.

I'm lost on just about every aspect of this wedding. Women should be given a schooling on how to plan one of these things..or maybe it should be second nature to us and im missing that bolt in my personality..all i know is im lost. The colors, the floweres, the cakes, the centerpieces, bridesmaids dresses, the dj...and on and on.

On things is for sure tho...i love pink...and it will be there for my wedding day :)
