DIY Wedding
Who knew this would be so hard?1?!

I'm a 28 yr old 'princess' and I have always had dreams of a perfect wedding, up until the day I was actually asked the big question, I knew exactly what colors I wanted, how my dress would look, the venue, the bridesmaids, even what my groom would be wearing.

Since last week Tuesday, all my thoughts, ideas and inspirations are a complete and total blur! I have no idea what to chose! I love every dress I see, every ring, every venue, every color.

I originally intended on having a small and intimate wedding, but I have already added about 5- bridesmaids to the mix.

I was seriously not prepared for all this hard work and will probably need ALL the help I can get.

When we were young and dreamy, our moms should have warned us that this would be allot harder then it seems.

Besides the stress that I know is going to a part of the planning, I am so excited! Over the moon, filled with love, joy and happiness and honestly cannot wait to be married! Just knowing that someone wants to spend the rest of their life with you, is enough :)

This is going to be the happiest day of our lives and I would love input as I go along my 'planning journey'.

I went through the same problem as you! All I can say is not to dwell on decisions like color schemes or bridesmaid dresses. All of that is going to look beautiful no matter what colors you choose. I would concentrate more on bigger things like your wedding dress. This is the one thing that will stick out in your memory when you look back at your big day. Also, don't try and please everyone, just worry about pleasing yourself and FH. It is your and FH's day and no one elses. Plus it is impossible to please everyone!

Happy planning! :)

Start with your dress. Find one you adore and feel beautiful in and you feel like a bride. Then, from there choose a color scheme and bridesmaids dresses. I did. I also coordinated the girls' dresses with mine. Together it'll look like a vintage style. Just take deep breaths, get all the help you can, and relax and have fun. It will all work out!

Every bride does this. As a MOB and  one of 'those people'  who ended up with a zillion ideas I had to narrow down, here's what I did.
Take all the wedding gowns, pin them, then go try on the ones you can afford. ONLY the ones you can afford. Narrow it down to the one you feel the best in, the most romantic, special etc. Then go thru all the bridesmaid dresses, pin the ones you like, narrow it down to under ten to try on. At least five will be total disasters at try on, that leaves five. Have yr maid of honor, or someone in your wedding party go with you and try on the dresses next to your dress. Have someone else take pics.  (If they give you static about taking pics tell them you write for a wedding blog, it works like a charm, got to take all the photos I wanted of my daughter so she cd make decisions.) Then take all the photos of you and your bridesmaid and pin them.  Take photos from sides, front etc. Narrow to three. then have everyone try them on, see what works best in YOUR opinion. If I had to wear a pepto bismol pink dress at my sisters wedding yr bridesmaids can suck up wearing what you like. Use the everything pinned, narrow down, then choose method for everything. If you're doing DIY don't forget time will be limited on the day of the wedding. Yr venue may not let you in much ahead of time so you need someone NOT in the wedding to transport flowers and set up both at the church and the reception. You can do small. You can do elegant and small. (small guest wise vs. bridal party) Just don't forget every bridesmaid needs flowers and a bridesmaid gift. Narrow to our nearest and dearest even if you have to uninvite someone. They'll understand if you're cutting due to cost restrictions/size of wedding restrictions. A good way to look for flowers? Cut up wedding mags w/photos of your bridesmaid dresses in them.  Then cut out bouquets you like.  Tape them to the dress as though the bridesmaid in the photo is holding them.  It gives you a better idea what's what. Hope this helps. I've been blogging for years and have gone thru two weddings--it's worked.
