Mail for Macbride
Got a little Hanky
Okay I actually got two hankies. My hankies just came in the mail today! One is for my mom Cathy and the other is for my FMIL Linda. Thank you Aimee114 for the inspiration for my FMIL's hankie! I picked black but I'm somewhat rethinking the decision because the contrast is a bit sharp. There's nothing I can do though.
What do you think? The etsy seller, Heather Strickland, was super quick, affordable, and awesome. I would highly recommend her. http://www.etsy.com/shop/HeatherStrickland?ga_search_query=heatherstrickland&ga_search_type=seller_usernames |

Licensed to Marry!
So I finally went to the Town Hall to get my marriage license. I really wanted to go with FH Chris but logistically it just wouldn't work. They close before he can get home and they open when he's already at work.
But I guess it doesn't matter because he'll be there on the big day :)! BTW: Don't you think it's kind of weird to have to get permission to get married from the government? |

30 day countdown:
Have you been asked any of these?
So today hits the 30 day mark. It is also the RSVP deadline to let us know that guests are coming or not. Here are the surprising things that people have said to me over the last week. Has any asked you these questions?
1) Can I bring my kids even though the invitation was just addressed to the adults? 2) I lost my invitation. Can you let me know the details again? 3) I'm bringing a guest even though my invitation was just addressed to me. 4) I thought I replied already. Yes I'm coming to your wedding. Why do people make it so difficult? I vow never, I mean never to ask any of these questions! |

Monogram Aisle Runner Check!
This was my second project of the weekend. It took a super long six hours to make, but it was so worth it.
FH was so funny because he loved the way it turned out so much, he said, "How can we prevent someone from stepping on it and ruining it? Maybe I'll get some plastic we can put down." Some tips if you're thinking about making one: -I had trouble knowing what size to print out the monogram to trace onto the aisle runner. I came across this fabulous website that all you have to do is upload your image, tell it how many pages to print, and then it creates a .pdf for you to print. Easy pesy. I printed it 4 X 3. Here is the website: http://www.blockposters.com/default.aspx -Also the paint runs through, so make sure to put wax paper underneath when you are painting. I messed up and put the waxy side down and the runner was completely stuck to the paper after! I had to literally rip the runner off, all the while cringing that my runner doesn't rip. Thank goodness it didn't! |

Wedding Wish Tree Complete
Okay so I was having a bit of a bad weekend (okay a really bad weekend) with some family drama, so what better way to de-stress than to have a glass of wine (okay a few glasses) and do some DIY projects!
I finally completed my wedding wishes tree. I cut out all the leaves that I made, tied them to ribbon, and made a cute sign. The poem I found on the Internet, but I slightly changed it to make it flow better. What do you think of the finished project? |

This is my sad face :(
A small vent
I'm a little sad today. I guess everyone has their highs and lows, and I was trying so hard to be positive, but I guess it's my turn to vent a little.
I'm really tired of having to take the lead on everything. I just wish someone would say, "Don't worry Christa. I'll take care of it." Sure I could ask them but it would take me just as long to explain things as it would to do it myself. Imagine me sitting on the bus, having to arrange a carpool for my brother to attend my FH's bachelor party. I had to find out carpool arrangements for my brother to go golfing (because he left it to the last second). My brother is a groomsman and he hasn't been a very good one. I also had to deal with my mother who was stressing about my brother having crummy golf clubs. Clearly having crummy gold clubs is not an emergency that you need to call me to complain about. My brother isn't even going for the full day because he can only afford the golfing and not the dinner or bar afterward. Okay now imagine the person next to me, on the bus, turn and say, "So who is getting married?" It isn't obvious because the bride shouldn't be dealing with these dumb little things. It's easy enough to say to just stop doing them but I feel like everything will fall apart by the seams if I do. My FH is so lucky that his best man planned his entire bachelor party. He doesn't even know what they are doing. It's a complete surprise. My bachelorette, on the other hand, is being planned by yours truly. Moi. My MOH is my mom, which is absolutely amazing to have her be my side, but it comes with its drawbacks too because she doesn't know much about this kind of thing. I'm so sorry for venting. Thank you for reading this. I just wish my family would be more helpful rather than bogging me down with petty little things. Do have family or friends that are driving you nuts? |

Ask a Question
How many guests respond just before deadline?
So we have one week left until our RSVP deadline and only half of our guests have responded. We have 56 people who responded "yes," 4 people who responded "no," and 56 people who are somewhere in limbo because they haven't responded.
I know it's still early because we have a week left but is it normal for lots of people to respond just before the deadline? If they don't respond, I'll be super annoyed to chase after them. |

Congrats to Tashasita, Nidhal, CCranetobe, and Bananapants
This note may be a bit early but ladies I'm flying to Mexico for a family vacation and I wanted to make sure that I send a congratulatory note to you. You ladies have been amazing. Words cannot express how much your support and love mean to me. You're given so much to the ladies on this site and karma will definitely be kind to you. I hope that you have an awesome day and I can't wait to hear all about it.
Lots of love, Christa |

Wish upon a star
Or maybe just a tree
Okay so I was going through a bit of DIY withdrawal after being away for a week. I searched high and low for leaves for my guests to write on without any success. So I designed a leaf template and printed the design onto cardstock. I still have to make another 100 leaves for my wedding wish tree, but I thought they turned out nicely.
If you would like me to send you the template for the leaves, please let me know. ;) |

NWR: Need advice on these U.S. places
Okay so I was gone a full week and got tons of work done in the meantime. I have 12 job interviews that start this weekend (yikes) and I was just wondering if you could give me some advice. I'm interviewing for schools all over Canada and the States but I haven't been to any of these places below.
So have you been to any of these places, or do you live here, and could you just tell me what these cities are like (good or bad)? I'm interviewing at a conference, so I'm not going to these places yet but I just want to know what they are like to live there.
