We did it! So happy together! Rachel, our photographer was able to capture the entire essence of the event with this one shot! Its an 'all in' affair! The room, a downstairs cellar in an italian restaurant was the perfect venue for our lil soiree! I made up activity bags for the kids so they were entertained throughout the night - they ended up entertaining us! A great shot of the room, the jam jars holding the candles, the blackboard place settings - all simple, but so much fun! |
Wedding Photography
Its over, and here is the proof!
Well it has been a loong time since i have posted anything here. I loved sharing so much of my journey with you and thought it apt to share some of my fav pics of the final result.
Hope you enjoy and find courage to do things your own way, a way that helps share the story of your union, and feels right to you. You won't regret taking a stroll off the 'expected' path! |

Wedding Dress
Here comes a little Retro
The dress was probably the most difficult aspect in organising our day. I knew, well kinda knew what I wanted but found it impossible to find and difficult to express. Finally thanks to the wonder that is www.etsy.com I found something super close to what I wanted and was able to customise it to be absolutely what I wanted!
The colour was champagne, the length was to the knee so I could show off my fav heels and the accessories kept minimal. Let me know what you think. |

Wedding Favors
Now Beet It!
Hellllo girls! I feel like I have been neglecting my blog, so here I am back and blogging especially for Tracey!
I have become rather 'favour' obsessed of late, waking up in the middle of the night, cold sweats, fear stricken, sweaty palms with visions of my beloved guests dumping our sweet gifts in the first garbage bin they come across in the car park on the way out of the reception! So, Mr Mad and I have had a number of discussions over a number of bottles of wine and have created a favour each to symbolise our individual love of the beet/beat. Mr Mad is creating a CD Soundtrack of the wedding day in honour of the Beat part of our Beet theme for the boys. I am putting my kitchen to good use and am creating Beet Relish in jam jars in honour of the food part of our beet theme for the girls. Of course, in true Mad fashion, we have added some cheekiness to the labels. Are these worthy of sustaining the post wedding dump??? |

The Ultimate Ride
I was convinced. I had completely made up my mind. I was not going to have cars, any cars. I was going to catch a taxi. Yep, a taxi - the most convenient of transportation!
It was going to be cheap, it was going to be dial up sweet, and it was going to be yellow! Now, enter stage left my dear friend, in fact a SUPER friend with her SUPER car! She has a 1978 Mini in the most glorious shade of lime green and she has offered to drive me to the Chapel! Can you see it? Crowd expectedly waiting the arrival of the demure bride and BAM! she appears in a cloud of lime green awesomeness kickin it teenage mutant ninja style. Sweeeeeeeet! |

Bridesmaids
Flowergirl = Pinwheels, Signposts & Lollipops
We have a flowergirl and a ring bearer. That's it. No bridesmaids, groomsmen, matrons nor besties.
My soon to be step children, Mr Mad and I will make up the entire wedding party. I am not a fan of the basket of petals for some reason which I can only believe is related to some deep seeded desire to either pick the damn petals up afterwards or to forever more fret about the poor soul that has to, so I am on the lookout for something to keep my flowergirls' precious wee hands busy! Choices thus far are: 1. sign post (silent movie style though) that reads 'Here Comes the Bride" 2. a gigantic lollipop that will double nicely as a bribe for picture perfect behaviour :-) 3. I gigantic pinwheel because a. they are too cute and b. I am fast running out of ideas! Any suggestions would be most welcome. Currently leaning towards the lollipop (still in some sort of wrapper!) for obvious reasons. xx |

Wedding Fitness
Round 1: Back Fat vs Pole Dancing Class
Alright girls its game on!!! I just tried on a strapless dress and dag nabit I HAVE BACKFAT!
Like serious overhang. Why did I never notice this before?? So now that I have finished rocking forward and backward hugging my knees and screaming 'why me... why me' over and over again whilst eating icecream out of the tub (which by the way I have heard is v. good for back fat) I have decided to take on my back fat with a bout of pole dancing classes! Yes, you heard me right, I have decided to hang upside down from a pole. I know that I am bound to regret this immediately after walking in to my first class but I figured that if I shared this with you - you would hold me accountable and there would be no turning back.... just a lot of turning upside down I suspect! oh joy! x |

Wedding Hair Style
I'm in the middle of an identity crisis
I want everyone else's hair! Every single time I look at pics of hairstyles I think 'That's it! That's the one! That's sooooo me!' only to completely change my mind mere nano seconds later.
I wonder how much time scientists would need to graft on numerous heads for me to sport a variety of hairstyles in a rainbow of fashion colours......?? Or perhaps, if scientists are clever enough to graft me some new heads for all of these fabbo 'do's' I'm finding, that they could then add some other enhancements or better still reductions??? Its late, I'm tired and I have viewed and contemplated way too many pics of way too many gorgeous hairstyles that I now fear for my little innocent folicles and all of the chemicals and spray that they are going to have to endure over the next few weeks whilst I continue the never ending and increasingly important search for the perfect style. Is this normal??? |

Wedding Invitation
Save the Date!
This is a pic of the save the date card that we sent out last month.
The reaction was mixed amongst the recipients. People either loved it - or they just didn't get it. Oh well, will be interesting to see what they think of the invites then won't it!! hehe... We used a pic that we had from our engagement shoot - the fact that it was a headless shot kind of drove the whole idea. Hope you like it! x |
