Fun props for photo booth
whatever...
at our 70 days away mark, I realized i still need a lot of little things. My earrings, some props for the photo booth, oh I dont know... the INVITATIONS TO BE FINISHED!!!!!

To avoid feeling like I wanted to stick my head in the oven, I went on etsy and bought some cute moustache and lips on sticks for our photo booth props. Sometimes you just gotta go wtih your gut, find something that "works", decide on it and buy it. Cross it off the list. Move on to the next thing. I need to start saying "whatever' more often. Such as... "I need earrings. These work. Whatever".

So my "whatever" moment today was the purchase of these adorable props for our photo booth. now onto the invitations... oh boy.

Wedding Photographer
my second wedding!
These are just a few images from the second wedding I've photographed under my new photography business... Maggie Mudd Photography. Although I've been blessed with lots of bookings, I still have dates open July through December of 2010, plus several dates open in 2011.

I work out of DC/MD/VA but I love to travel and will go anywhere! In fact I'm doing an OBX wedding and a Philly wedding too!

bouquets
flowers have been ordered
i'm using fiftyflowers.com for our wedding. white hydrangeas for the tables. And for the girls to carry, pale yellow cabbage roses. I'll carry pale pink cabbage roses... and I'll make the bouquets nice and big.

Can't wait for them to arrive! They will be delivered at the hotel 2 days before the wedding and we'll start putting them in buckets/vases/and eventually wrap the stems.

love flowers!

My 100 days
it's here!
I used to be so jealous of the other WBC brides who would post their 100 day mark. Now that mine has arrived... I'm not so jealous.

OMFG... I have so much to do!

Most importantly I'm still fat and THAT has got to change. I've had it together and been so planned but now I feel like everyone else does around this time. It's real now, and I'm ready for it but I wish I had my invitations done and my waist down by a few inches.

good luck to everyone out there getting closer by the day!

BBQ rehearsal dinner
We've decided to go with a BBQ outdoor rehearsal dinner, but taken up a level. A classy BBQ if you will. We'll have the rehearsal at the chapel on campus, and then simply walk down to one of the campus buildings where there is a great patio off the banquet hall. We'll have lights strung up, tables with red and white cotton linens, wildflowers in mason jars, and play awesome music into the night. We'll serve pulled pork, bbq chicken, cole slaw, and all the trimmings. We'll drink sweat tea and lemonade, and end the night with some strawberry and peach pies. We want a very relaxed night before the big day, and since our reception will be more formal we wanted something fun!

loving all these ideas I found online... anymore great ideas from you ladies would be great!

cheers!

my shoes
check!
finally... i have my shoes. you'd think the fate of the world depended on my wedding shoe choice. I couldn't decide. and finally, I spotted them on PAYLESS nonetheless. Payless people! Lela Rose has a dyeable line with the company and has about 60 colors. my something blue will be my shoes. here they are folks, in all their $47 glory. perfect fit too. i'll need some pads to keep blisters from building up but any shoe would do that to my feet.

cheers!

Oh... and forgive my lack of self restraint when it comes to photographing things. It's what I do, so it's hard to resist.

Mother of the Bride Dress
she got it!
My mom has been loving this dress for a while now. It's stunning and she looks great in it. We went to the only place in the DC area today that carries it and it was perfect! She's getting the dress in a little darker green than the one shown, with a light tan sash to match the bridesmaids dresses. She'll be stunning, I can't wait!

don't you love her style?

Table Numbers
Jackpot at Michaels!
Today I was in Michaels to pick up some cute props for my Love Bird Sessions photo shoot. (I'm a wedding photographer and I'm doing a Valentine's Day shoot this weekend). While I was there, I foun 15 little white bird cages on sale... 40% off!

Hello?!?! Could you hear my screams of glee?

I picked them all up, and took them all home.

I had always wanted a bird cage on each reception table, but they were always too big when I found them in the stores. I want a very simple floral centerpiece. White hydrangeas in a glass vase, with the beautiful green stems seen through the water. Finally I found these 3 inch tall bird cages. My plan is to fill the bottoms with moss, and put the table number printed on pretty cardstock inside each cage. I'll set them next to the vase of flowers and call it a day! Maybe a few votives and we're set!

cute?? I think so!

Shoes: they're going to kill me
Can't decide on a shoe!
I haven't really been a "shoe person" ever. I mean, I'm a girl. I love shoes. But no more than any other gal. So, when it's time to decide on my wedding day shoes I figured I'd just find some I like, say "ooooh!" and buy them. Hasn't been that simple.

I've finally found some that fit my price and what I'm looking for. My project this weekend is to decide on a pair and just order them!

I won't tell which way I'm leaning, but if you ladies let me know which ones you like best, I'd appreciate the extra help!

Happy planning!
