Wedding Invitation
Finally picked them
I was a little behind on the invitations. We went looking last fall and the owner of one of the stores suggested that we probably didn't need to order until the end of January so it kind of left my mind for awhile. Well January rolled around and we met with our reception coordinator and she told us she would like numbers about 6 weeks before. Well you can imagine that kind of messed up the timeline that the paper shop had suggested. Anyways, the invitations are now ordered and being printed. They are the Enchantment style from Earthly Affair (check out their website at www.earthlyaffair.com), an online eco-friendly invitation place, and are green and orange. I have been really impressed with their service, they have had really quick turnaround time on the proofs and changes are all made electronically. Very cool!

Bridesmaids
Dresses
Here are a few of the patterns I found that are similar to what I want for my Bridesmaids. If any of you have been in Smart Set recently, I saw a dress that I loved and my sister tried it on. It was perfect but the wrong colour. It was a deep burgundy, not quite right for a Green wedding. So, I will be on the hunt for fabric in January and then am hoping to have the dresses made by a seamstress. The dress was a simply A line dress with a strapless sweetheart neckline like mine. The patterns posted here are close but I want the skirt shorter, above the knee, and not a bubble skirt. And I don't want a really flowy/gathered skirt, more straight cut and I want the fabric to have some pattern or detail to it. The one in the store also had a very tiny little ruffle all around the neckline and at the bottomof the skirt that was a really nice detail. Anyways, let me know what you think. Too matchy matchy to my dress?

A lot of things have happened...
So a lot of things have happened...
So a lot of things have happened in the last few weeks as I am sure a few of you are aware. First of all my Dad was injured when he was hit by a car while biking to work and then my Grandmother passed away. It's been a crazy hectic month and a half. Lost a lot of steam in planning but things are starting to pick up. We have now booked our wedding photographer Jenna Simpson. You can check out her work at www.aboutimagephotography.com. She has beautiful work and we are very excited to have her on board. Plus, I have finally got the gym membership I have been meaning to get for a year at Goodlife and signed up for a little personal training. Hopefully get me a little more toned up for the wedding and boost my energy level!
Now we have to tackle getting the caterer and the cake! Also bridesmaids dresses but I am waiting to see the Spring fabric to decide on those. I have a few patterns I like though and I will post the pictures of them here. Also, I have bought my dress. I know a lot of you were saying to go with the Alfred Angelo but I could not find it anywhere to try on so I went with the Mori Lee which I love :). But will not see until March now :( |

Wedding Flowers
Gerbera!!!
Gerbera are definitely my flower of choice. My wedding colours are going to be green, orange and white. So I am hoping for white and orange gerbera and green hydrangea. But I am open to other suggestions for green or any of the colours. I really like the second arrangement though. I thought about green and white for me and then adding the orange for my bridesmaids. Any comments are welcome.
