Ask a Question
Wedding Planner?
So I'm kinda unsure whether I want to get a wedding planner or not? In a sense I want to plan my own wedding, and in another sense I know it's going to be overly stressful. Just thinking about it is making me go nuts. The HTB wants me to get a wedding planner because he knows what I'm like when I'm stressed. Not to mention I am returning back to school (LAW SCHOOL) which is going to be enough stress as it is. And to add on top of it, I have two children under 5. And we're in the process of moving which we have only done 4 times in the past 12 months. So I am under a HUGE amount of stress, don't get me wrong I love my hubby and I want to marry him ASAP. But it just seems like so much work and stress.

I realize everything I said in this post makes it seem like I don't want to get married but I really do and just am really stressed!!!!

I'm in law school too and I work full time. I got a planner. I'm doing all the planning myself but a lot of the execution will fall on the planner especially the day of the wedding. If its in your budget I recommend a planner.

I meant to say congrats on getting into law school. Huge step and good luck in your studies.

If you have plenty of time then you can do little bits at a time. I've been planning for two years and honestly I haven't found it one bit stressful up to this point and almost everything is just about done. We also moved across the country and I had to start a new job and settle into a new place. Lots of other stress but the wedding stuff comes when you get those few moments to sit and relax and just think. It kind of takes the stress out of my everyday life in just surfing the net and checking out these websites.

Maybe you guys can answer the question for me: What do wedding planners actually do? Don't they just come to you to make all the decisions anyway?

i'd recommend a planner to "hold your hand" through the process.

it will still be your vision, the planner will do all the ground work and reseach - but all decisions are ultimately yours.

definitely make room in the budget for one - such a stress relief to know a professional will be with us to make it go as s mooth as possible.

good luck!
