My first wedding blog post!

Hello Ladies of WBC!

I'm excited to FINALLY be planning my wedding after 45 years of engagement. Okay, its almost six years, but now that I've said 45, I feel better about the six years. I have this thing where I need to be different and I go out of my way to not follow the norm. So my theme and my colors have to be unique! Its kind of hard to do this, with so many great ideas out there. My theme is the 20's, but I don't want to go so far that it ends up being a costume party! I want the feathers, but I see everyone doing feathers now and... Oh well. Hopefully this site can get me organized enough so that I can have the best night of my life (aside from the birth of my 2 kids, but they were born in the morning so NM).

Anyways, I'm definitely on a budget, one because I'm a stay at home mom, two because my parents have not addressed this. My parents being split definitely makes it harder to find out about these things, but they have to help! I'm their only child. And a girl at that. Sorry for sounding so spoiled, I'm not, truuuuuuuust me. If I could get married anywhere, it would be on a boat. I'm a Pisces and I looooove water. I'm flexible on the wedding date, because of the budget but I'll figure that out soon, or we'll have to go to Vegas. I'll probably find my feathers there lol.

Let's get to one of the ideas that I do have. Since I love the 20's but I don't want to attend my wedding as a flapper, I have done some research into what I like about the outfits of the time period. The dresses had dropped waists, and a lot of beading and detail on the front. The shape was often a little masculine, so I wanted something to add femininity to it. The dress in the picture has it. It drops low in the back, which I think is so beautiful. The skirt, for lack of a better word looks like actual feathers but doesn't look like we sat on Big Bird. I'm in love. The price is not so bad either (from what I've seen out there). From the review, I know I may need to get alterations even though I plan on losing some weight. I'm very curvy and I wonder what this would look like on me. Any thoughts?
