This is mandyb24's Pink Wedding!

We've decided to have the reception indoors because we are nervous about the heat. Which totally changes some of my decorating ideas, because the reception place is very elegant. All my decorations were for an outdoor summer wedding. But this is ok. We're actually saving some money this way because we don't have to rent tents and all of that and have really decreased the amount of decoration because the room just doesn't need much. I'm excited about this though. I feel better knowing people people won't leave my wedding only remembering how hot they were instead of the actual wedding itself.

My mom actually came up with this idea and i fell in love with it. My fiance and i are writing a brief family history, how we feel about one another, how we met, a little on our dating and our hopes and goals for the future on cardstock and then fold it like a card and have it sitting on on the tables at the reception. I haven't met any of his extended family nor has he met mine, so this will give them all a quick insight into me and into my fiance while they are arriving and waiting for everything to begin. I'm considering trying to fit a baby picture of each of us on there too. :)

We got a DJ! Another big check off the list. This guy seems really nice and fun...like a DJ should be and is local so that helps too. I'm excited about him.

I saw this in a magazine and thought it was the cutest thing ever. They sat out these two big glass containers..like big jars, and one said "take a wish," and the other said, "give a wish." So as the guests come in, they can leave my fiance and i a wish for our lives, and then take a wish from the other jar. I'm making up different wishes for everyone to have one. Isn't that adorable?!

I've always wanted to get married at my grandparents...it's personal and i think it would really make them happy. My grandpa and i have never been that close and this is the only thing i've ever seen him get excited about...i think it will make him proud. They have this beautiful pond with a gazebo and they live just up the hill from it. We were going to have the reception here too, but thought it might be a little too warm for an outdoor reception in July.

My main color is watermelon with accents of light pink...i've always loved pink. :)

This is something i'm really excited about. I have been on my own for awhile now and already have a good base to get started on so we decided to have a honeymoon registry so we could really do it up right. :) My brother in law builds websites, so he's making us one where people can go online and actually pay on the website for a tank of gas or a night in our cabin or dinner or something like that. I think it will be refreshing for people to know they don't have to buy a gift. Has anyone used one of these before or thinking about doing it?

I only went to a two places to look for wedding dresses and the first place i went, i liked almost everything i tried on, but didn't want to make a decision on the first outing..so we went again a week or so later to a different store and wasn't have any luck...until the last dress i tried on. I looked it for a few minutes and the longer i had it on and the more i looked at it the more i knew that was my dress. It's was a little over my budget so as i was standing there with it on i was thinking where i could save some money so that i could get that dress! My mom absolutely loved it so it was easy to talk her into it. :) I was so relieved to have that taken care of though. And trust me...the picture doesn't do it justice. :)

We're going to Gatlinburg TN, and staying in a cabin for a few days. (Hopefully 4 or 5!) :) The cabins have everything and there's hiking and fun little shops. I can't wait!

I have 2 bridesmaids and then my maid of honor...well matron of honor. :) I had a hard time finding these. It's always hard to think about everyone's different body types and likes and dislikes and i want them to like what they're wearing, but i think i found something that everyone will enjoy. And it's very summery which i liked about it. I'm going to have straps added on to it because i don't have anyone that really cares for strapless, but it should be an easy fix. The picture is kind of weird...the bow should be higher, right under the bust. My matron of honor will have the light pink color skirt so she'll be different. I want her to stand out a little.

I decided to make my own invitations because it really cuts down the cost, although now i'm a little stressed about it. There's so much more to do when you start planning that i never thought about...but we'll get them down. The trick has been finding a time to get our engagement picture taken...that's what we want to use as our picture in these.

My colors are watermelon and pink blush (a very light pink) and i love daisies so they have to be included. :) They are fun and summery and then the lilies add some elegance to everything.

Hutchings does such a beautiful job..he did my sister's senior pictures and has really great prices for such quality work. We were so excited to get him! Here's an example that was on his website. I thought it was neat.

He proposed at a place called Big Springs which is near my parents house. It's a beautiful park with a crystal clear spring and waterfall...absolutely gorgeous! We were talking and then he started fiddling around in his pocket and when i looked over he was on one knee...and on a hard rock! Now that's love. :)
