I'm Married!!!
Here are some non-pro pictures of the happiest day of my life....im still waiting on my professional pictures but only because we couldn't decide on the best ones and i had to tell my photographer to change the album layout so i guess that delayed the process even more.
Wedding day started a little crazy, but everything turned out beautiful:) Let's just say the whole day still feels like a dream. Wish I would have gotten more pictures before the photographer left, we don't have many pics of the reception and the dancing part...so TIP for all you brides...make sure you book your photographer AND videographer for the entire time of the event ...not just for a couple hours. |

Engagement Pics!!!
Our engagement photos turned out really nice. We had our fist photo shoot back in february but it was too cold to go outside. Im glad we decided to get more pictures taken....i love our photographer and now i feel more confident that he will capture some good shots of our wedding day :)

The Countdown Begins!!
This last months prior to the wedding are definitely the most nerve wrecking
.. now I really know why brides say that planning a wedding is such an emotional rollercoaster
.it really isnt the wedding but the thoughts that run thru your head when reality sinks in and you realize that every aspect of your life is going to change
.for me the challenge has been getting a new job, finding a new house, moving away from my parents and finding the time to prepare for the big day
wow! Life is really amazing and although sometimes things are hard I know I will always remember this days as one of the best times of my life. So for all the brides out there who are feeling overwhelm right now, never give up, never stop reaching for your dreams, you will soon have your prince standing next to you to help you fight the battle.

My Tea Party Bridal Shower!
The bridal shower was a success:) I decided to have it at The Front Porch Tea Room. My niece/bridesmaid found this cute place online and it was exactly what i wanted for this day....my mom and i ended up planing most of it and i really didn't care that it was not a surprise bridal shower because i wanted to do something different, no games, no silly favors....This was just a wonderful place to hang out with the girls! And for the first time i really felt like a bride....opening up all the presents and having all my friends and family around me was the best feeling....i kept thinking "is this really me seating here?" lol

Marie Antoinette meets mariachi band!
We are having a mariachi band play at the reception during cocktail hour and dinner....then the dj will be there for the "after party". This was the best i could do to avoid any problems because part of his family is VERY conservative and don't believe in dancing!!! I think the mariachi band will represent my Spanish heritage anyways and im excited to see how people react. After all this is a CELEBRATION and it is my day and if i want to dance no one is going to stop me...lol

La Dolce Vita!
Im absolutely happy with my final decision for the cake!!! My fiance and I went cake tasting and had a great experience with the vendor. We picked two flavors: passion fruit and chocolate rapsberry. We both loved the chocolate kahlua torte because it has a coffee flavor so they are making the top tear in that flavor. This will be just for the two of us, we will save a piece for our anniversary and the rest will be eaten when we come back from the honeymoon! yummy:)
And the best part is they are making a copy of this gorgeous cake i found on Jennifer Skog website. From the moment i saw it, I knew this was the perfect cake for my marie antoinette theme. I added some brown tones since that is one of my colors and i also changed the floral design to the Fleur de Li in gold! It will look amazing with feathers and a couple roses on top and it will match with my centerpieces. |

Let them eat cake!
Im going cake tasting next weekend and i cant decide what kind of cake i want....they told me four tiers would be enough cake for all my guests but i think i need six to make it look taller! I think i want feathers on the top and every tier a different style.....?

I started making my wedding invitations today and it was such a fun project!! I got the idea from a magazine that had cards decorated with feathers and i knew right away i had to have them...but of course i couldn't find a local vendor that made over the top marie antoinette style invitations. So i did what i do best, went to Michaels and decided to make them myself. They are truly one of a kind...no invitation is the same as the other. If you are crafty or like creative ideas for your wedding and want to save money, this is a great idea!

I want CANDY!
I can't seem to find any favors that i really like so my lastest idea is to have a candy bar....so the guests could fill boxes with sweets and take them home!!! Im thinking about having only pink and white candy and of course chocolate. I could decorate a round table with a damask tablecloth, and make a sign that says LOVE IS SWEET or something like that! And maybe i could have the wedding cake on the same table or next to the candy bar...???.since nobody ever seems to notice the wedding cake. I need some ideas and suggestions please!!

I have spent months planning my dream wedding!! i want it to be big, glamorous and fun. My vision for the wedding was inspired by Marie Antoinette...i want feather centerpieces, bird cages, cupcakes, macaroons...basically a victorian look with a modern touch. My colors are fucsia, gold and brown. The hardest thing about plannig my wedding is that our families come from very different cultures. Im Spanish/Colombian and his family is Mennonite. So it's been difficult to decide what type of music is appropiate and whether or not we should have dancing and alcohol at the reception. I hope my wedding is everything i have imagined and i can make our families happy:)
