Wedding Invitation
Handmade by ME

I started making my wedding invitations today and it was such a fun project!! I got the idea from a magazine that had cards decorated with feathers and i knew right away i had to have them...but of course i couldn't find a local vendor that made over the top marie antoinette style invitations. So i did what i do best, went to Michaels and decided to make them myself. They are truly one of a kind...no invitation is the same as the other. If you are crafty or like creative ideas for your wedding and want to save money, this is a great idea!

They are beautiful!  I'm interested in making my own invitations and I was wondering if you really saved that much money?  I have heard different things from different people.  Some say it isn't worth the money you save and others swear by it.  What did you find?

Thanks a lot girls!
Gigi, i went to many stores but found Michaels was one of the best places to shop around for wedding invitations. The price for one box of invitations (my kit came with 30 invitations, response cards and envelopes, mailing labels, and envelope seals) was $35. I also bought floral embellishments for scraptbooking and they came in a package of 6 pieces for $3, the feathers came in a bag for only $2
I recommend you go when they have sales or look for their coupons...i guarantee you will not spend near as much money doing it yourself, it just takes some extra time. Plus if you think about it, you will also have to spend money on menus, rahearsal dinner invitations, thank you cards, ceremony programs and bridal showers invitations!!

The Wedding Studio by Anna Griffin also has beautiful invitations.
