I love them and the jewels on the front will be great with the vintage theme. When we found them I made the comment that we would have to tell everyone to get them but she said all the shoes don't have to match... What do you think? are your bridesmaids going to have the same shoes? Mine will be wearing long dresses so I dont know if it makes a huge difference but might be a cute photo op? IDK what do you think?

We dont intend to turn anyone away who does not fall in line exactly with the dress code but we are telling friends and family now and have included it on our Save the Date as well. We really want a glam event and I think this will add to the ombiance : ) Who else has done this or is planning to do this? and how did it go or how are you communicating it to your guest? I have heard lots of people say that a dress code is silly but Im loving the idea: )

Wedding Decoration - different centerpieces? http://www.weddingbycolor.com/marilynsprotege/milestones/141602 http://www.weddingbycolor.com/marilynsprotege/milestones/141602 Fri, 09 Jul 2010 19:06:00 PST so I will be hitting the stores tomorrow to look for centerpiece items... I love this picture and I want them to be full like this one is. The plan tomorrow is to see if I can come up with something maybe to rotate different centerpieces to keep costs down... If you read my earlier post you are caught up on the $440 feathers : ) I have seen several pictures where people have rotated different but similar centerpieces between there reception tables. I want all my centerpieces to be substantial in size, and I will definitely do some feathers in tower vases but Im thinking of see what else I could do. Whelp wish me luck... and any suggestions would be gladly welcomed.

DIY Wedding - Are the save the dates that imperative? http://www.weddingbycolor.com/marilynsprotege/milestones/141601 http://www.weddingbycolor.com/marilynsprotege/milestones/141601 Fri, 09 Jul 2010 19:02:00 PST We have been going back and forth with whether to do these or not. The extra cost just wasnt appealing ... but after talking to my mom it seemed necessary because my FH's family all lives 2 hours away and we want to provide people ample time to make accommodations. With my many DIY projects, job and 1 year old my mom offered to do this for me. I sent her an idea and she whipped it up in no time at all... The magnet is business card size and I plan to attach it to a 4x5inch black card stock to be mailed. The idea is that it will be sufficient in size when coming out of the envelope but the smaller magnet will keep the weight down for postage : ) This was not in our plans to do but my mom whipped this together overnight and I m glad now that we have them for our guests.

Bridesmaids - Thinking of going with a twist.... http://www.weddingbycolor.com/marilynsprotege/milestones/140780 http://www.weddingbycolor.com/marilynsprotege/milestones/140780 Sun, 04 Jul 2010 18:24:00 PST So we went this past week to look at bridesmaid dresses. My bridal party ranges in sizes so no one dress was flattering for everyone. After trying on several dresses we left unimpressed and my MOH and I started looking online again. I had seen the "twist" dress on a wedding show before and looking at it again online seemed like it may be a good option. I really wanted everyone to wear the same dress but this would be a good compromise because the difference would be slight in the tops and the from waist down are exactly the same. I don't really want everyone to go pick something of their choice in the same color. So we watched a video of the dress on You tube and were convinced then that it would NOT work. The video showed some very skinny girl wearing the dress a bunch of different ways but it was twisted very "scantly clad" LOL.... her boobs were litterally about to fall out. But there was another video of a plus size girl wearing the dress and all the ways to twist it and it was very flattering. This video showed even more ways to twist it then the 8 listed on the main website so we were reg energized with excitement. The dress is pricey $230 to be exact. I found it on toast bridal for $165 which is still a little high but they can definitly use the dress again and they can wear it a bucnh of different ways. Not to mention because of the way it is structured the very most that would be needed in the way of alterations would be hemming. What do you think? Oh and if you want to see this dressy not look so riske' check out monif c's videos on you tube!!!

Ask a Question - Has anyone used the pros services? http://www.weddingbycolor.com/marilynsprotege/milestones/140778 http://www.weddingbycolor.com/marilynsprotege/milestones/140778 Sun, 04 Jul 2010 18:09:00 PST I have been contemplating this for awhile now... They have rave reviews but the whole thing makes me a little nervous. So anyone who is familiar with our wedding knows that we had to move our date and with that move lost our photographer because she was already booked on our new date. In looking for a new photographer I came across the pros. They offer a package for photography, videography and DJ for $1995 which is a pretty good deal. The way it works is you look through profiles of DJ's, photographers and videographers on the website and pick your professional based on customer reviews, picture portfolios ect. Then you pay your deposit online and a week before your wedding each of your selected professionals will contact you to go over details. Its that part that makes me nervous. They have a consultant they assign you mine has called me several times and she is very nice I just dont know. Have any of you used this company?

I expect the finished product will be composed of about 75 brooches, earings, rings and necklace pieces. All of these were actually in a necklace which I took apart. I hot glued brooch backing on each piece and worked the pip cleaner, floral wire and hot glue. I plan to use white, black, silver and a few dark purple pieces. My MOH and I are searching thrift stores, yard sales, family members and anything else we can think of to come up with the pieces. These bouquets sell for $300 plus and I can see why... Im trying to keep a tally of where this puts me assuring myself I will not get anywhere near $300! I will update as it grows : )

how to defeat brooch price sticker shock.... - brooch themed bridal shower http://www.weddingbycolor.com/marilynsprotege/milestones/131368 http://www.weddingbycolor.com/marilynsprotege/milestones/131368 Sun, 16 May 2010 17:07:00 PST I now have my heart set on a brooch bouquet but they do not come cheap and most inspiration pics I have found are beautiful collections of 75 plus brooches!!!!! I found a site that offered some beautiful brooches with a good selection and ran $2-$3 each but still with a grand total of $75 that really adds up. Well my MOH made the suggestion of having my bridal shower brooch themed and have everyone bring one or two to contribute to the bridal bouquet. This way I can get a jump on the collection and my bouquet will be have something from all the ladies in my life!!! Im so excited and I will post pics when I get started. anyone else looking to do brooch bouquets heres the website that I found... www.fabulousbrooch.com

I wasn't really sure how to be sure but I did my google research and found this site http://www.sunrisesunset.com/calendar.asp you can type in your exact area and it will tell you what you will be looking at sun shine wise! Looks like we will get in right before sunset... so a sunset ceremony it is but its great to know and not have to guess until October comes around, hope someone else can use this bad boy : )

Originally I planned on using black and white anemones in classic black belly vases... but they are very expensive flowers and Im not sure it will create the wow effect... Now I have found more pictures and I think the feathers could be beautiful when they are fuller like the picture I posted (more feathers vs less) and if they are paired with all the other right decor including the venue... so now I have to decide what will work for us and I have NO CLUE..... what do you think... I have pictures of my venue in an earlier post ... it is an "indoor" tent kinda : / lol .. any suggestions would be great Thanks!!!
