Ask a Question
Flying with your dress?
So I am wondering if any of you ladies have had to transport your wedding dress by airplane? I am flying back to my home town on Friday with it and so nervous about them A. being difficult with the dress - security or it not falling into the carry-on restrictions B. Having to stuff it in the overhead compartment...it's quite large and would hate to have it damaged.......anyone with flying experiences? especially Air Canada as that is who I am flying with. I have tried calling them but it's so hard to get a hold of an agent.
Thanks!!! Update*****upgraded to first class for $260 so my dress and me will be transported safe and sound :-) |

Guest Book
another twist on tradition....
When I saw these mad libs a few months ago I thought what a cute and fun idea for guests as well as an icebreaker for everyone. Essentially instead of having a guest book, guests would fill out this mad-lib basically with their wedding advice and put the cards in a bird cage on a table at the front. We will just lay them at the top of their table settings to fill out and for them to put them in cage during the evening. We created this in word (any word processing app will work) and printed them out on a heaver paper as card stock was almost too heavy to fit through our printers.
I saw it on theknot.com and my FH took on this project himself at work (too cute) in which he said he had to sneak around so that no one would see what he was doing...too funny. http://wedding.theknot.com/wedding-planning/wedding-guests/articles/10-simple-ways-to-wow-wedding-guests.aspx?page=8 I have attached the pdf file...looks pretty plain but the font will be jazzed up along with the header a diff color. Thought I would share this with the ladies maybe looking for an alternative to having a guest book. |

Bridal Clutch
It arrived!! and sooo beautiful :-)
So I found this beautiful clutch on Etsy and fell in love with it right away. I was a little concerned with the size but when it arrived I knew it's the perfect size to fit all my day of "goodies " :-)
I purcahsed it from Davie and Chiyo and here is their web site http://davieandchiyo.com/ and their Etsy link is here: http://www.etsy.com/shop/DavieandChiyo?ref=seller_info Especially for Canadian brides who aren't a fan of paying the shipping costs from the US Davie and Chiyo are based out of BC. These are one of a kind clutches that are beautifully constructed, elegant and reasonably priced and so happy I bought it...yay! |

Wedding Reception
Something Old, Something New....done!
when I saw this idea the other day on cincybride09 's blog I knew right away that we had to do this. We aren't having a traditional wedding and I thought what a great way to have something traditional in a completely new way.....we love this idea and have already printed off our drink list.
I have added our pdf version which of course will be jazzed up with the damask design. I think it's a fun idea and so happy that I came across this. |

Ask a Question
Where to find make-up inspiration?
Unfortunately I mistakenly deleted this post a few minutes ago with all the great responses to my above question :-( . I did have a chance to search "natural makeup" and the Project wedding web site which has great ideas (posted some). But I lost some of the other suggestions :-( If other brides have posted links on their blog would you mind letting me know? thanks! I have done some searches on here but haven't been able to come across too much.

Ask a Question
Which cake topper?
So ladies, I have to pick a topper for a cake/cupcakes similar to the one attached but I am so torn between the two. As we are not having a "traditional" wedding and a very small one at that I thought at least keep the cake topper romantic and somewhat traditional.
But my FH loves the fishing one! I think it's cute and definitely unconventional which is what I love....it definitely has the "fun factor" but not sure. Any suggestions??!! thanks!!! |

DIY Wedding
Groom T-shirt - Love Iron-ons!
This is soo easy and so much fun!! I saw this decal "Groom -Under New Management" at the store where I bought my invitations and I though this was great! I have a similar iron on for my Made of Honor which I hope to put on a black robe (which I really haven't been able to find) but this took all of 3 minutes to do...if that.
The shirt was 6$ and the decal was 8$....and a cute shirt for my groom :-) I think they can be ordered online at WeddingStar http://www.weddingstar.com/wedding-gifts/all/view-all |

Wedding Favors
Wedding favors completed
So finally I found wedding favors that both match our color theme (damask and fuchsia) along with them being the perfect size :-) Because the wedding will be on the East Coast of Canada we will be filling them with saltwater taffy (yum). We were really hoping to give nice chocolate like Godiva but we were really worried that they would melt (a guarantee) but I think the taffy is a nice personal touch.

Wedding Dress
Here is my dress!! Yay!
So it finally came in and have already had my first fitting a couple of weeks back with one more to go which is 2 weeks time. I was actually pretty nervous as I have heard so many brides go for their first fitting and not love the dress as they the first time they tried it on. I can totally see how that can happen and it must feel so disheartening but when I saw it and tried it on I couldn't believe how happy I was with my dress. Can't wait to get it!!
I also attached a pic of how I will have my hair. We didn't do a trial just a consultation and it seems that a half up do will work best. We will have soft curls and I have purchased some hair clips from the white aisle which I will put in my hair as well to finish off the look :-) |
