Ceremony Decor
DIY Pomanders

I really love the idea of having pomanders line the aise for the ceremony. I was thinking of doing them myself but don't know how I would feel doing flower arrangements a day before the wedding...unless I use silk flowers then I can make them weeks in advance and store them for use during the ceremony.

I'm not a big fan of silk or fake flowers but I'm already spending couple of thousand on flowers and this would just add more costs.

I like them when they are the same flower in one shade. I would like to use carnations or roses: a full bloom flower.

My ceremony is inside a church and I love the way they look outside. I haven't been able to find any pictures of pomanders in church or other inside ceremonies.

I love the coral ones.

These are some of my favorites that I've seen online. Two of the pictures are DIY steps for making pomanders.

Here is a website for making your own pomanders.

Pomanders also often serve as flower gifl flowers since they don't have to carry a bouquet and its easy to attach the ribbon string on their wrists.

how creative and a smart way to save money. I love pomanders. I was in my friend's wedding in 2006 and she made hers too, but they were our bonquets, lavendar and dark purple.

I've also thought about pomanders...but like you said, there doesn't seem to be a place for them to fit, unless you're having an outside wedding. I haven't seen them in a church ceremony either. They're just so pretty though! Personally, I decided to ditch the idea because I couldn't find a place to put them that would be elegant and pretty. I wanted a wow factor and though the pomanders lend themselves to the wow factor, it wasn't happening with my other plans.
Good luck with your choices!

I love these!!! I think it's a great Idea! I think these could work in a church....at the base of the pews or hanging on the side of the pews or better yet hanging on a stand of some sort .....

Something like that would be very nice!

You're very creative and give excellent advice so I'm sure whatever you do will work out wonderfully! Good Luck!

Thanks for both links, I like the wall draping on the first link!

I might do half spheres and hang them off pews so that they dont stick out. Now i need to find some pic of a half sphere pomander thing-y.

Marta, great idea!! I am planning to have them too, as we are having an outdoor ceremony. Great links about the DIY stuff as well, so may make my own.

They are so easy to make! I am not crafty at all. I made 8 in one night out of foam and silk flowers. Everyone I've showed loves them and keeps thinking I bought them! I'm not a fan of silk but with the right bloom, they look amazing!!
