My first DIY
Ceremony Pomander
After our meeting with the wedding planner, today was my first time ever visit to the Michael's Craft Store. I have to say I was mesmerized by all the paper, wood, stamps, stickers oh my. I wanted to go to see what they have and price a few things but I ended up buying a couple of items.

I bought the I Do letters for the cake table. I need to buy some paint in aqua to paint them. I will paint them and then do some damask stamping in corners.

A stamp pad...yeah not so exciting.

Small glue gun and glue sticks for all my crafts.

I also bought a styrofoam ball, 5" and 50 white silk carnations.

I decided to try and make one of the pomanders that I've been drooling over to see if the silk flowers look good.

So here it is, my very first DIY, a silk carnation pomander.

I must say I'm very proud of myself.

One of the lovely brides did these out of different flowers. They look great http://www.weddingbycolor.com/brandyntravi/milestones/9767

It looks great marta! I like it with the silk flowers, and I like the aqua colored ribbon with it. I went to price things today at Michaels too- it was a Michaels day!

Marta!  Fantastic!  The pomanders are soooo cute!  Isn't Michael's the bomb!?  I went when we first got engaged & racked up on alot of aqua & gray doo dads that were on sale from the Martha Stewart line.  Do you guys have a Hobby Lobby there?  Equally mesmerizing with tons of stylish cardstock & scrapbook papers.

Thank you girls so much! I fixed the little indent on the right side. I LOVE my hot glue gun and want to hot glue everything LOL

Sonya, omg yes there is a Hobby Lobby, I thought it was like home depot and would have never even thought to go there for craft items. I'm gonna go in a couple of weeks!

They came out great!! You cant even tell they are silk flowers. I wanted to make my own too but doubted they'd come out good- but know I think I will at least try one and see. Wish me luck!!  Your pomanders are adorable♥
