Wedding Cake
Not too happy

FH and I decided we wanted a cheese cake wedding cake and his Dad was over the cake because he is going to buy it for us. Well now my FFIL asked his brother to make our cake.. no cheesecake.. and I was definitely NOT a happy camper! I was pretty ticked about it actually. I wanted a cheesecake and now looks like FH and I will just be getting our own individual cheesecake. We talked to FH's Dad about how we was was not happy, and he got mad at us?? Seriously? Omg it makes me so mad to talk about this cake situation. Anyway since I will just be getting a cake I told him "I" was picking it out, so I chose this one. Its beautiful, cute and has our daisies. It will have 5 layers and each layer will be white with colored daisies in our 6 wedding colors. I hope it turns out this way or I will be really ticked.

am sorry about what u going through but i say if u not sure about someones work dont go for the.. specially when is something tihis big... just my opinion...

He should've got you your cheesecake but since he's footing the bill and covering the costs for his brother to make it (Is his brother a baker/pastry person?) I do amateur cakes with fondant- and although my fiance joked that I should just make our cake- there's no way I would have!!! Without sounding like a bridezilla maybe have your FH explain to your FFIL that you are grateful and thankful that he is helping with the cake but that you both originally had requested a Cheesecake (yumm i love cheesecake!) and just having a small one yourself wasn't the initial plan.

See if you can have the brother incorporate cheesecake into the cake somehow? Maybe do a really thick creamy cheesecake filling or something between thick white pound cake or white cake?

My cake is going to run us about $700, I would totally be grateful to have someone in my family make it. Whether it turns out great, or sh*tty they'd get some recognition for it and you wont have to pay for it.

Hey- if I had someone paying for a cake for us I would be happy either way. You really can't get mad in this situation, you should be thankful people are helping you. at least that's how I feel. I wish we had people helping us out, but I'm a really picky person so I'm kinda glad we don't that way everything can be exactly what I want and nobody can tell me no =) We are doing a cake covered in Coconut and some people were saying we shouldn't because not everyone likes coconut, but it's our favorite and we are paying so oh well!

Well I'm totally thankful that someone in the family is doing our cake and that his parents are buying everything, but if they're going to do that then they at least need to do something we like. FMIL knew we wanted a cheesecake and she was mad that my FFIL pretty much picked out the cake himself and he didn't ask us or show us any pictures. So it's not just me and FH thats mad.

Ohh I love this cake! I made this one for my SIL wedding!

Like daphne47 said, why don't you have him incorporate cream cheese or cheesecake filling into it? Or do the top tier in cheese cake!?
