Wedding Invitation
Metallic Paper... moving on to step 3

I bought metallic paper to do my invitations and had no luck on my home computer, an inkjet, because the print smudged (that was step 1). So I sent my mom the paper to see if her laser printer would do better but the paper was too thick (that was Step 2)...

so I guess we are on to step 3 which is going to staples to see how much/ if they could print them there...

Why can't things ever be easy?

I don't know what I will try after this if Staples doesn't work out...

I love how your invitations look!  I had a problem with my paper too---I have a laser and had to manually feed the paper because it was thick to be put through the printer (and it was metallic too).  Did you try doing that?  I know Kinkos and Staples don't print on certain types of paper---so you may have to switch to normal card stock.  Of perhaps you can order from www.paper-source.com.  They have what they call text and cover paper.  The text is a little thicker than normal printer paper and the cover is the thick stuff.  If you really wanted the metallic paper you may be able to use the text instead of the cover, although the thickness isn't there....good luck and I hope it works out for you!  But I have to admit...if I could redo things, I would totally have kinkos or staples print everything for me.  It was  pain manually feeding EVERY PAGE...and my printer sucked it in crooked sometimes....

More than likely Staples will work and they are not super expensive. They can pretty much print anything. If that doesn't work, try Kinko's, Office Max or your local print shop.

Sorry to hear that... hopefully something will work out because your invitations look gorgeous. I love how you were able to make the design flow with all of your inserts.

I love your invitations! They're so cute and I love the color. I'm using metallic paper and metallic cardstock too, but I haven't tried it to tell you how they worked.  I didn't want to use up all my ink, so I emailed a few local stores and one told me it'll be .40cents per page using my own cardstock...I've been emailing tons of places and so far I think .40cents seems decent.  Do you mind sharing your secret to get the image in the pocketfold to line up that way? Did you use publisher?  I found a cute floral design I like, but I can't get it to line up.

Thanks for all of your responses!  In regards to how I got the pictures aligned, I wrote it out under my invitation post on 7/29 (Invitation update or something like that) - just go to the comments section to see my response about it!  Hopefully it will all work out!
