Bridesmaids Dresses
I think this might be the one!
My MOH is my sister and she has been so great at trying on the bazillion dresses I've picked out! She is pretty much a perfect size for almost all of the bridesmaids sample dresses so she looks great in all of them - but I think this one is especially gorgeous!
One of my priorities in picking out dresses is that I want my bridesmaids to be able to (and want to) wear them again. I also want a dress that is not going to be too heavy for a summer wedding but is more formal and elegant. This dress is pretty much perfect because it is a style that will look great if the girls decide to get them tailored shorter after the wedding. Plus, I think the neckline makes the dress more classy. My wedding is going to be fuscia and blue and, originally, I was going to go with fuscia dresses; however, after seeing this color on my MOH I think I might keep the blue for the dresses and have fuschia flowers! |

Wedding Dress
kind of like walking on a cloud...
The good part:
I love my dress and can't wait to try it on again! My favorite part is probably the train because the organza fabric and the way it falls makes me feel like I'm walking on a cloud. I also LOVE the lace/pearl embellisments and the fact that it has so much sparkle! The organza is kind of sparkly too which adds to the bling... The bad part: Unfortunately, I had to order it so it is going to take months until it comes in :( I don't think I will even be in the area to try it on again until next Christimas. I am kind of worried about ordering it because the size I needed was 2 sizes smaller than what I tried on - I am just worried the dress will fit differently around the hips in a smaller size. I have a very short waistline so hip-hugging dresses don't look that great on me. I hope it turns out okay... |

The Proposal
Under the stars....
Chris and I have been dating for 7 years so the fact that we were going to get engaged and married was not really a surprise for many people, including myself. I was really happy though, that Chris managed to surprise me when he actually did propose to me.
We were staying at a family cabin out in the middle of nowhere, waiting for some friends to join us for the weekend. Once it got dark we lit a campfire and spread out a blanket so we could look up into the stars - and of course you could see sooo many because there weren't any lights around! Anyway, I was joking around asking him what he had to say for me to give him a kiss - and he pulled out a ring and said what if I ask you to marry me? Of course, with my luck, I wasn't looking and started to say something about not teasing me. However, I didn't get it all out before I saw this georgeous ring he had in his hand. Then I was kind of speachless for a couple moments... ...and we all know how the rest goes (I said yes!). |
