DIY Wedding
My DIY's
Hello, thought I'd add some pictures of some DIY project I (and my family) has been working on!
Picture 1 - the "Ellie Bag" is not a DIY - I bought it off of etsy.com for $10. It is for my flower girl to keep all her "goodies" together on the day of the wedding! What a steal. Picture 2 - My large "J" - I traced this and my dad cut it out. It is for in front of our backdrop behind the head table. I cannot believe how great it turned out. Picture 3 - I found this picture at my fiance's house. I had drawn it for him a couple of years ago as a present. I decided to grab it and use it for my "homebaked goods snack table. Picture 4 - Ring bearer pillows - my mom did the sewing and I did the bow. I cannot believe how great they turned out also! Picture 5 - I accidentally uploaded this picture of our dog, Riley, but I can't figure out how to delete it! haha So, this one is just to enjoy! Soon, I add some pictures of our table runners we made! |

Wedding Decoration
Backdrop Behind Head Table
Hello Ladies,
I was wanting to know if anyone was putting a backdrop behind their head table and what they were doing? My reception venue is pretty plain, but needs something behind the head table for picture purposes. I like clean lines so I am not a fan of the drapping fabric. Oh ya, and I'm close to going over my budget, so it has to be cheap! :) My only idea so far was to but black bed sheets and somehow make a back drop with them and then try to make a large "J" for our last name to hang in the middle.... What are you all doing for your backdrops? |

Programs!
I wasn't going to make programs, but fogot that I had asked a couple of my little cousins to hand out programs at my beginning stages of the wedding planning........so........I decided to just do them myself. They are turning out great and I am loving them. I have 30 finished and about 120 to go!
For those of you that are making programs, are you making them for everyone of your guests? I figured on making enough for about 75% of our guests that are coming.... I figured not everyone would take one and the kids won't take one. We have 124 people coming so far from Response Cards! Yaaay! |

Bridal Party Gifts
Suggestions Wanted!
Hello Ladies!
What are you all getting the people in your wedding? So far, this is what we have... Bridesmaids - earrings, I was wanting to get them a bracelet to wear, but can't find one within my price range that I like. I also thought about a picture frame and I could give them a picture from the wedding to put in it later? Any suggestions for this? Groomsmen - coolers, this was my FH idea... he's all about the practical gift giving :) Flowergirl - bracelet, flower girl book Ring Bearers - little footballs, one is 2 and one is 7... he 2 year old's football is called "pee wee" size and the 7 year old's is a "junior sized" football. I think we will write a little message on the football.... My FH played football in college and the little guys think he is the greatest thing on earth because he played in college :) Wedding Day "Helper" / Aunt - a bottle of her favorite wine - she will probably need it after that day!! Parents - NO CLUE!! I need help with this one! What are you all getting your bridal party? |

Engagement Picture Teasers
My photographer put some "teasers" on facebook for me to preview... I thought I would share a few with you all... She did an absolutely wonderful job!
She is also doing the wedding and I can't wait!! Picture 1 is with our dog, Riley... she didn't make it in many pictures because she was a "Marley" from "Marley and Me" that day... for those who have seen the movie know what I am talking about! The ice cream pictures are at a Jefferson City, MO favorite - Central Dairy...a local ice cream parlor...delicious! |

Our First Dance
Suggestions Needed
So the FH and I have spent many nights trying to find a first dance song that we both like. He is a country fan and I just want something that is "us."
We toyed with having the choreographed first dance because my FH's cousin teaches dance classes and was a dancer in college, but I think my FH has a bit of a romantic side, and wants the slower first dance. Hmm.... decisions, decisions! Does anyone have any suggestions? What songs are you all dancing to? |

My secret obsession!
I found my wedding shoes! They are beautiful and I must have pictures of them on the wedding day! They are silver, which I think will still look fine with my dress... I have to try them on together yet!
i LOVE shoes! Also, wedding pictures are coming up on April 16th - sooo excited about them! OH YA - I have a job for next school year! I was offered a 6th grade position last week - I am sooo excited about teaching the kiddos and I am so happy that finding a job is one thing marked off my list of "to do's." |

Wedding Plans
I am BACK!
I am ALMOST finished with student teaching and about to get back at it for the wedding plans! I have not done anything for the wedding (which is exactly 4 months away) since the beginning of January! I am kind of having withdrawals! haha!
One problem that has occurred though...my cake lady (who I did not get a contract from yet) emailed me the other day to tell me that she was having some personal and family problems and would not be able to make my cake. I am kind of bummed because now I have to search for a new cake making person! Hopefully, it will all turn around... at least I get to try some more cakes!!! Wedding alterations are coming up and I need to get on my invitations! Oh, still to come! I also had my first teaching interview the other day! I thought it went well...so MAYBE I will actually have a job next year! :) You girls are the best! |

I am so excited about this place! I originally wanted to have my reception here, but it does not seat enough people that we will be inviting. It has a beautiful view of the capital of Missouri. The last picture is a picture of the large wall, that used to be the stage for the Opera House that was here, that they use as a projection screen. I cannot wait to use this for a slide show of cute baby pictures of my FH and I!
