Wedding Hair Style
Finally -- I found it!!
So I have been SEARCHING for the perfect up do, and I think I have finally found it! I wanted something that was loose and airy - not something that was plastered to my head.
Thank you Taylor Swift!! :) |

DIY Wedding
Save the Date
I got my "save the date" mailed out this past week. They turned out awesome, and everyone is loving them. I got a digital scrapbook kit, and out it together myself in photoshop, and then had them printed at Kinkos.

Wedding Rings And Jewelry
Yeah -- I'm spoiled!
My fiance decided that he wanted to upgrade my engagement ring! He picked out a beautiful Kristall Collection. The center stone is a princess diamond. To either side there are 2 baguette diamonds on either side of the center stone followed by 3 small princess cut on either side.
The wedding band itself is lined with princess cut diamonds, with baguette diamonds in between each. |

Wedding Flowers
My Bouquet!
I was having a difficult time with this one. I saw so many arrangements that I liked, but wasn't sure if I really liked them enough. Plus some were so expensive it was ridiculous. So I have finally decided to go with something simple but elegant. It's going to be 2 dozen roses. The roses are going to be fuchsia and light pink. The bridesmaids are going to have 3 light pink roses ties together with a ribbon.

Bridesmaids
Dress!
So I have finally decided on which dress that I want my girls to wear. I chose one from David's Bridal that is comfortable for them to wear the entire night. They love them - especially the pockets in the skirt!!
I am getting them in the watermelon color, though. It's pretty much a fuchsia color. |

Wedding Decoration
Centerpiece
So I figured out my centerpieces for the reception, and did a trial run to see how they turn out. It turned out great -- not much I would change! They were cheap and easy to do. So far it's going to be about $15/centerpiece -- which isn't bad at all! They are going to be sitting on a circular mirror with more candles around the base and some of those crystal things that everyone seems to be using these days.

Wedding Dress
The perfect dress!
On this fine Saturday I had an appointment at a local wedding boutique to try on some dresses. I had in mind the one that I wanted to try on - it was an Alfred Angelo design. They didn't have that style in, but decided to try on other dresses. I tried on about 10 dresses. The very first one I tried on I really liked. It was very plain and didn't have a train - which I kind of wanted because I am having an outside wedding. We set it in the "try on again" pile and moved on to the next. The 3rd dress I put on, I came out of the fitting room, and my Mom, Maid of Honor, and one of my bridesmaids was like "OMG!". We all loved it. It has a train on it, and that was my biggest concern. So out of all the dresses we narrowed it down to those 2. I put on the first one, and looked at myself in the mirrors. I really liked, but was still unsure about it not having a train. The dress felt very promish to me because there was no train and no other detail on it. I put on the other one, and the lady that was helping us told me that one thing she would have changed about her wedding was to have had a dress with a train. I thought about it, and knew that I always wanted a dress with a train. That was the deal breaker for me! Although it's not very "poofy" I am going to wear a slip underneath it to give it more body on the bottom.

Wedding Rings And Jewelry
August 3, 2008
The center stone is Princess cut, and is "floating" above the band. In the band there are numerous Princess cut diamonds. The Wedding band matches the engagment ring minus the large center stone.
The ring I REALLY wanted was just like this one, but a trillion cut diamond as the center stone. It was slightly larger, too. I was nice and went with the cheaper of the two! LOL... |

Music
Ceremony/Reception
So I am just getting started on this wedding planning stuff, and I feel like I am jumping all over the board on different things! So today I focused on one thing...the music! Thank you WeddingChannel.com!!!
I think I have it all pretty much squared away for the different "special" times. I suppose I will list the different songs for the main parts... **CEREMONY** Wedding Party Entrance: Bebo Norman - A Page Is Turned Bride Entrance: Wedding March Exit: The Verve - Bitter Sweet Symphony (Instrumental Beginning) **RECEPTION** First Dance: Keith Urban - Good Morning Beautiful (This song is an amazing choice because my finance texts me every morning before I wake up with 'Good morning beautiful".) Father/Daughter (Bio-Dad): Amy Grant - Father's Eyes Father/Daughter (Stepdad): Kenny Rogers - Through the Years Mother/Son: Boyz II Men - A Song for Mama Brother/Sister: Leanna Womack - I Hope You Dance (I am going to dance with my younger brother & my fiance is going to dance with his younger sister.) Elijah/Mommy: Jack Johnson - Upside Down (My son and I are going to dance to his favorite song!) Money Song: ANYONE HAVE ANY IDEAS?! Bouquet Toss: Madonna - Girls Just Wanna Have Fun Garter Toss: Lenny Kravitz - American Woman I think I have it all pretty much covered! Did I miss anything?! |
