I'm Married!!!!!!
Already been a week!
I can't believe that I got married a week ago already!!!!
The day was blue skies with brigh sunshine and a warm 28 degrees!

I'm normally a stressed out person, but I managed to stay calm and cool all day!!!! I even slept in until 930am! :)

Everything went amazing with only a few hiccups!!!!

The tux drama that I vented about on a previous post continued right up to the day of the wedding and resulted with my husband wearing a tux that didn't fit him!!! We had no options left by the time the company got us our tux and he had to deal with what he got (a tight fitting, too long sleeved jacket).
Besides the tux only small things didn't work out (candles on the patio weren't lit, strawberries and cream didn't come out with dessert, my bouquet had yellow gerbers instead of cream gerbers etc).

BUT! The dance floor was packed all night and our dj did a great job of combining old school 90's with top forty!
We were lucky that we had access to a lounge patio during the reception because the venue had a hard time keeping up with the heat!!! I would definitely not pick the dress I had if I had known May would be so hot! :)

We danced the night away until the end with our guests and got them all home safely on a snazzy school bus that we rented :)

Our photographer sent us this one teaser photo which I love! I'll post more when I get them in a few weeks.

EEEKK!! I'm so lucky to be married to the handsome man in that picture ;)

Tux DRAMA
NEED TO VENT!!!!!!
So... I have yet to vent on my blog here... but there is a first for everything... And what better time than only 16 days to my wedding...

So about 3 weeks ago our best man found out his leave was cancelled with the navy and couldn't be in the wedding party. That on it's own was super sad and frusterating.... I'll admit part of the frustration came from having already folding 65 cootie catchers with his name as the best man on it
So, what did we do?! We picked up and moved on. Our only groomsman became best man, and FH asked another friend to stand in as a groomsman.

Now as most of you know if you've read my blog, we are planning our wedding in Ontario, from BC... for anyone unfamiliar with the geography, it's about 6000km apart. Not easy at the best of times.
FH and I decided that we'd get the guys sized for tux's here at a chain that is also in our ontario location, and have them sent there for pick up. This way, the guys only had to pay for rental for 1 day, and didn't have to fly it home!
So we chose Tip Top Tailors. We chose them because it's the only tux place in the town we are getting married in, in Ontario.

Last week FH and I picked out a tux we both liked and he was measured for it. We sent the info to the to guys in the party (one lives 20 minutes away from us, the other is in Toronto) so that they could go to their local TTT and order their own in their size and have it sent to Ontario. Now, about 3 days after being sized, the sample tux came in for FH to try on. The only thing that fit was the shoes.... everything was wrong! They had to remeasure and send in the new info. BUT we dont' get to try it on again. They won't send the sample back out again to BC... so we have to hope and pray that it fits on the wedding day....

Obviously that is stressful for me to think of, so I wanted to have the groomsmen tux's sent out so we could be sure they were sized correctly. Here's the kicker. Our groomsman is leaving on friday morning for europe and doesn't get back until the wedding, which means he needs to try on the suit today or tomorrow. TTT promised me it would be in for him to try on today..... we even stopped in yesterday to ask and they said, yup it will be here....
NOPE, not only is it not here, the manager has no idea if it will be here or if it was even ordered. So now I'm stuck thinking... what if none of the tux's fit.
Then I thought... let's be proactive here... I called the store where he was measured (not the same as my FH) and see if it was accidentally shipped there to be tried on. Not only was it not shipped there, they have no record of ever measuring him for a tux.

Our photographer cost us a fortune.... what if the one thing that ruins the pictures is bad fit tux's? What if they dont' even show up in Ontario?
I'm freaking out, my cheeks are burning and about to cry..... I can't believe after all my careful planning, and following up that this is happening.

I'll be lucky if I have 3 tux's let alone 3 that all fit.

Georgian bay brides, help!
We are getting married at Lora Bay Golf Club in Thornbury but we have a ton of guests staying in Owen Sound!

We are going to try to arrange cabs to be there for pick up, but we will need 8-12!! (which, you if you aren't familiar with the area, is a lot to track down)

Does anyone have any other (affordable) ideas? Shuttles? Limo? Etc?

I would spend up to $200 to provide transportation into Owen Sound, but not sure what to look at?!

HELP PLEASE!

54 DAYS !?!??! WOWZERS :)
So It's only 54 days until the big one :)

Everyone is asking me how the planning is going and if there is still lots to do... but honestly... I can't think of anything left. I mean there are loose ends that will need to be taken care of the week of, but I can't do them any sooner.
The only thing that I can see being seriously last minute that didn't have to be is the marriage licence. Since we are getting married in a different province, we have to purchase our licence there. And we both have to be there to do it (or I will need his passport). The only time we are there together before the wedding date, is the day before. Yup, leaving it until Friday morning... ugh...

But on a high note, check out these babies!!!! I'm not wearing them for the whole wedding, but i am for part of it :) I lovvvvee them :) I'll have to try to keep them sorta clean before the wedding... We'll see ;)

That's right, I'm on the band wagaon. These things are so cute!

We are going to set them on the chairs at the ceremony to act as our ceremony card. IF it's too windy (which is likely since we are on the water), the flower girls will hand them out once people have sat down.

Or we may put them on the tables inside for the reception. Not sure?
They just introduce the family and bridal party.

Sarah Darling made the design for my cootie catcher! Isn't it pretty?! :)

AMAZING! My homemade alter and table number holders
My amazing father made these for me!!!!
We are going to get married under the archway, then it will be brought into the venue for the front door entrance way. We will likely use lilacs for decorations on it, though plain is fine with me.

My family and FH family are both super into horses. My FMIL donated 80 used horseshoes. My dad and I cleaned them up and then we built this arch way. Dad did the welding and I helped bend the metal.
It detaches at the top corners for easy transport.

We also made these table number holders. Though instead of numbers we will use horse breeds for the tables. ie: Thoroughbred Table, Belgian Table, Appaloosa Table etc

This is such an amazing piece and my parents will keep it for me until I move back to Ontario someday at which point I can keep it in my garden or barn :)

I will put new pictures up I get them!

My mom made this for me! She even made the bow from scratch. I'm so proud and appreciative of her :)

The paper was from hallmark.

They are done!
We bought 90 invites off of CL for $50 in the fall last year. These invites decided our colours.. but then I added green into the mix. I found these cute green flowers at michaels and attached them on :)

I think they turned out great and with all the wasted invites and ones we can't use or resell we ended up paying $1/invite :) Plus stamps of course

I love them :) GREAT!

Wedding Cake
Fired the baker.... and the new one is... ME!
Hello ladies!

So as some of you may remember, FH and I don't like like fondant icing. BLAH! AND we have so much food at this wedding that we felt that a cake would be wasteful and it would be an expense we could do without :) PLUS our venue charged us a cake cutting and plate fee. So we decided something similar to finger food desserts would be ideal.

A few months ago we found this lady that does baking as a second business from her home. We were going to do something like mini cupcakes but then decided that they were way too sweet and suprisingly too big! lol So we settled on brownie pops. And get this! She was only going to charge us $1 per pop!
Sound too good to be true? You'd be right :) lol

She turned out to be super bad at returning any of my emails and then I started to get that bad feeling in my stomach that said this is a bad idea.
So I emailed her and told her that i needed to know that she could be reliable and dependable since i'm planning this email from almost 6000km away. No response.... so 1 week later I told her we wouldn't require her services (thank goodness I never left a deposit with her)

So the hunt began for a new baker... how hard could it be? So I bought brownie pop moulds and baked my own! Here they are!
Ours will have more icing. We won't use these sparkles but will use crushed nuts, cookie crumbs and sparkles in our colours.

What do u think? And wanna know what they will cost?! INCLUDING the cost of the pans it will cost me $50 to make about 80 pops!

P.S The basket picture was not made by me but it is how I will likely display them, unless someone has another idea that might work?!

Weight loss
The fitness challenge is on!
I just wanted to let everyone know that my FH and I are officially having a friendly competition.
We weighed in and measured ourselves and made a plan. In one month we have each set healthy weight loss goals.

His goal is 10 lbs and 3.5" off his waist and mine is 4lbs and 2 inches off my waist. I think its very achievable....

anyways... i'm hungry.... *sigh* better get use to this until my body starts handling health food as a way to fill up instead of junk. hahhaa
