Cake Cutter and Garter! - Got em' :)

In our towel cake from my FH's mom, she included our cake cutter and server, my garter, our signing pen and 2 champagne glasses for the head table :) I'll had to add pictures of the shower when I get them! What do you girls think? I think the cake cutter/server is soo pretty! And I was just starting to think about getting my garter so it's perfect timing!

Wedding Dress - New Pics & First Fitting!

Hey Girls, So last weekend was my first shower, and I got my first dress fitting done as well!!! I am so happy with it. I hadn't put it on in over a year, and I feel just as, or even more in love with it :) It's all wrinkly but it will be pressed of course. The only alteration that needs to be made is hemming, and she's sewing cups in the bust. How do you girls like the bustle?? It's messy here but it will be a lot better of course!

I cannot pick a song for the wedding party to dance too, ugh!!! I don't want typical. Out of our 8 friends in our party, only 2 of them are a couple. I don't want something overly cheesy and lovey. I know most of my party will feel awkward and weird if its cheesy and lovey. I wasn't paired with my fiance at his sisters wedding. I felt like it was a little awkward, ahhaha, you can tell from the first picture!!!!! We're the only ones looking at the camera haha I was thinking "In My Life" by The Beatles. What are you girls doing? Anything different? Help please!

First Shower! - This weekend!

Our first shower is this weekend and it's a couples shower :) It's on Saturday and it will be like a back yard BBQ with mostly my fiance's family. Cannot wait for our first shower, and I am really happy to be sharing it with my fiance. Friday morning we are handing in our marriage licence form, and I'm getting my first fitting that afternoon! :) I'm planning on wearing this dress to the shower. What do you think?

Wedding Dress - Dress "Undergarments"

Hey ladies, so I might be going for my first fitting next Friday! I know, a little early, but I am 3 hours away from my salon and my first shower is next weekend!! :D I called my dress salon tonight to ask a couple of questions about my first appointment and to see if she agreed it would be a good time for me to come in and she reminded me to bring the shoes I will be wearing, and the undergarments I will be wearing. I always imagined I'd be wearing some sexy corset/garter set but my dress is already corset style lace up, and my dress is strapless, and when I think about it, I think it would just be uncomfortable. I'm thinking I'll just be wearing a strapless bra with some cute panties, haha. I also may use some "enhancers" of some sorts to push my girls up a bit since they're pretty tiny, lmao. I normally wear push up bras, and I'm afraid a strapless bra will just make my bust look flat and not 'up' lol. What are you wearing for under your dress on the big day? I'm thinking I'll be saving the sexy things for after the wedding, and for the honeymoon, etc. I have plenty of lingerie ;) lol

Hey Ladies, So for our centerpieces we are having white pumpkins and each one will be carved differently. They aren't real pumpkins they're like arts and crafts pumpkins so they won't rot, lol. What kind of games can you play to have people win the centerpiece? My friends wedding just had the first person to RSVP from each table win the centerpiece, and they're names were written under the table number signs. That was an easy way. So what did you girls do? I've been to a few weddings and I just can't remember this simple thing. Is the song that is used for the "Retrieval" of the garter the same one as the Toss? Like will it all just fit in to one song? My fiance picked 'Legs' By ZZ Top for the retrieval. Will he just go and get it, then toss it right after and it's all in the same song, right? I hope so! So I've been looking around for shoes and I just can't find anything I like.. I also need to get complete flats too because my fiance is shorter than me, so I'm definitely not wearing heels to look even taller lol. I just kind of want to wear my converse all stars under my dress. I think it will look really cute, and it just so me. I wear my converse to work with my cute work scrubs lol, and I love it. What do you think? I don't need anything fancy. No one's really going to be looking at my feet, and it's just totally my personality. Maybe I'll come across some cute flats, but so far, nothing. We'll see.

3 Months! - 3 Months, Wow!

3 Months yesterday is my wedding day! 90 days away! I can't believe it! I feel like I'm REALLY going to get married. People are actually starting to care that my wedding is finally CLOSE! :) I was tired of people going "ohh.. NEXT year.." when I told them my date. 3 months is not that much at all! I can't even believe it really! Started getting RSVP's back in the mail for the last couple of days! :)

NWR: My Baby Back Home... - Please pray for my pup

My mom took my dog back home to the vets yesterday. He has had little bumps on his skin for about a month, and also has stepped on something to make his paw swollen. She called me and told me the skin problem, they think is Mange! Which is already bad enough. He is a country dog, my parents live on a few acres in the country so he gets to roam around, and rolled around in a dead animal a few weeks ago. They think that's where he caught it. The swollen foot, is really serious. The vet said it's life threatening and that he has blood poisoning it's so infected. I am SO terrified. He's on 8 antibiotics a day now. They wanted to keep him over night tonight on IV, but my parents just cannot afford it. There is no money to do so... They upped his meds and tomorrow my mom takes him back for another visit, and *hopefully* there will be some improvement. It could be that 24 hours just hasn't been enough for the antibiotics to kick in, and that maybe by tomorrow, 48 hours, it'll be better. The vet said he did seem more chipper. My mom said he's been more chipper around the house too, but he still is critically sick. His fever was 41 celcius yesterday, and the same today. He's only 5.. we got him on Mothers Day when I was in grade 12. My fiance helped pick him out. I feel so useless. All I can do is pray and hope. My Mom said the vet had a tear in her eye this afternoon. It's a 300$ SET UP fee for the IV, and then 139$ to keep him on IV for 24 hours. Lets just hope these antibiotics work really really well and that tomorrow he's improved a bit. If he has improved, they will just send him home on antibiotics and they won't need him to stay over night anyways, which would be amazing. He's already been through so much. He was hit by a car when he was barely a year old, and needed his leg amputated. Please pray for my baby back home... He's the most amazing, wonderful dog. Ps. please dont think it's my family's neglect that has caused this. Like I said, he's a country dog and gets to do whatever he wants really. It couldn't have been prevented unless we didn't let him run around

Ask a Question - What Hair Color? Opinions please?

Hey Girls, Just want some opinions.. I really have had pretty much the same hair color my whole life. I dyed it dark dark brown last fall, and then this spring when it had faded I dyed it again but it wasn't as dark and had some red in it when the light hit it. I want to know which hair color I should have for the wedding... Dark dark brown? My original color? Or the brown/reddish color? I'm wearing a light gold dress. I feel like my favorite was the darkest brown. My wedding is almost in October. Could I get some opinions? Thanks so much ladies!

I have been thinking about getting my FH's wedding band engraved. Are any of you getting your bands engraved? And if so, with what? 98 Days! - 98 Days! Wow!

I missed posting on 100 days. I can't BELIEVE I'm in the double digits now.I started at 775 days!!!!!!!! I think we're in great shape for the wedding. Everything has been decided/ordered etc. We actually mailed out our invites on our 101 day mark or so. The main things we have left to do are pick all of our essential songs for the wedding, get our marriage licence and meet with the officiant, get my dress hemmed, (and get all of my attire!), meet with out venue coordinator once more to finalize things, etc! Just stuff like that. The big stuff is all done and lots mof the little stuff too. Ahhhh, 98 days, its so hard to believe!

What is it with people? Are they just jealous, or what? I've got some people at my work, who are like "Once you get married, you're gonna be an old married woman" "After you're married you're going to be boring and old" What the hell? Like they are joking when they say it, but I actually find it really really irritating and not funny at all. After I'm married, I'm going to be the SAME person. I'm still gonna be loud and excitable, yet relaxed and chill too. I'm still gonna go to awesome rock concerts and make my appreciation for the band on stage known by screaming and flailing around to the music (I was told I was outta control at a concert once, LOL) I'm still going to have parties, drink... (smoke pot) lmao. I'll still learn how to play my acoustic guitar, love photography and have it as my passionI'm still going to party and have fun like I always have. I'll still be caring, and funny, and giggly. I'll still love my family and friends with all my heart. I'm going to be the same person after we're married, and so will my fiance. I don't plan on changing.. So why after the wedding will you apparently be "old and boring"? Trust me, I won't be!

Our Buck N' Doe! - Our Buck and Doe :) So much fun!

So this past weekend was our Buck and Doe. It was so much fun!!! honestly, I was a little disappointed that a lot of people who said they were coming, didn't :( It was quiet for the first 2 hours and I was getting worried, but by 11pm tons of people showed up! It was so much fun! Old friends, my parents friends I've known since I was younger, family, were all there. It was really nice! We made approx. 1700$, which covers *almost* everything we have left to pay (the DJ, photographer, bag piper, etc!) We had awesome prizes and games. We also had Rock Band that everyone who wanted to play, paid a dollar for. It was hilarious! We all had shirts too. Bride and Groom shirts, and MOH/Best Man and Bridesmaid/Groomsmen shirts! I've posted some pictures. Our cake looked just like our Buck and Doe ticket, and the girl that made it is also making our wedding cake :) I had such a great time!

4 Months!! - Countdowwwwn! 122 Days!

Ahhhh, I cannot believe we're at 4 months! 4 Months seems SOO close, but then it seems kinf of far away when I think October, because October is a whole other season. We still have to get through the Summer, but I don't want to rush past that. We have so many fun things coming up. Our Buck and Doe next weekend, Showers, Bachelorrette party, etc :) 4 Months really IS close, and I don't want to just wish this whole summer by quickly. I'm going to enjoy every last second! We are basically done everything. When people say "you must be so busy planning" it's like no.. we are pretty much all planned, it's just the paying for things now, and I have the music to work on. I know there will be other things to come along like seating arrangements etc, but I can't really do that stuff yet. Yay 4 Months!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ps Today is also my Mom's 50th birthday and FH's Dads 50th Birthday! Kinda cool :)

Buck and Doe/Jack and Jill Next Weekend! - Sooo excited!!!

Next weekend, back home where our parents live, we're having our Buck and Doe!! I am getting so excited for it. We grew up in a small, small town, and buck and does are soo popular here. Every weekend during the summer you can find a Buck and Doe to go too at the Community Center, and next weekend is ours!!!! To those of you who haven't heard of them, they're like a fundraiser for the wedding, and like a pre-party type of thing. ANYONE is invited. There will be a DJ (same one as for our wedding) dancing, food, games! We're even setting up our Xbox for people to play Rock Band and Guitar Hero. We sell tickets in advance, and from everyone's drinks they buy, games they play plus ticket sales, we make the money from it :) We did a buck and doe for David's sisters wedding last year, and it was so much fun and we made awesome money. It's taken a lot of preparation actually! We booked the hall last November. It'll just be a big party for us, and a ton of my old high school classmates will be there that I haven't seen for like 5 years! Our door prize is a Garmin GPS and there will be lots of fun games, etc to play and lots of drinking and dancing and food! For food we just have veggies, fruit, sandwiches, cake etc. We have 4 Birthdays around this time too, so we'll be making a big Birthday annoucement for My Mom's 50th and David's Dads 50th (they have the exact same Birthday!) as well as my MOH's 22nd, and David's cousins. Our cake is going to look just like our Buck and Doe ticket. I'm really, really excited! Everyone will have a great time! Afterwards, some of my friends and bridal party will be camping over on my parents property :) Are any of you girls having a Buck and Doe? Ps-we designed the ticket, the deer were my FH's idea :) awww

I'm so excited about our venue! I actually used to work there as a housekeeper, and I never thought I would have gotten married there.. well, now we are, haha. They have a facebook fanpage and they have weddings almost every weekend (except for winter) and they post photos every Sunday of the wedding the day before. I get SO excited to go look at them on Sunday mornings as each week gets closer to our wedding! I don't wanna brag, but I'm posting some pics here ;) hehe We hope to get married outside depending on weather. 50' foot waterfalls nearby :)

Wedding Favors - Our DIY Labels :)

So one of our wedding favors is a bottle of apple cider. The place where we are getting married is huge on apples and there are apple orchards everywhere. And since this is also in the fall, the cider should be a pretty festive favor :) We made our own labels, and I think they're great! They match a long with our wedding inviations! Let me know what you think :) PS. the little ' " ' mark above the birds won't be there, lol, it got misplaced. It will of course be before the beginning of the quote :)

So I can't believe how fast this is coming up.. The last couple months have been going fast, and in 19 days we will be having our Jack and Jill/Buck and Doe!! Once that comes, after that there are showers and bachelorette party. I'm soo excited! I am really excited it's finally summer, and I don't want the summer to rush by, because by October, summer's over, but I am just too excited! Picked up my resized wedding band yesterday and it's beautiful :) Things are finally starting to come up now and finally starting to get serious! I can't wait!

Wedding Gift Registry - Sears

We're starting our gift registry today! I hope it's not too late or anything.. but everyone was telling us not to start it too soon. No one has asked about where we are registered yet though, maybe one person. We're going today to start it at Sears, I'm really excited to go around picking stuff! We really wanted to do Walmart, but they don't do registries anymore in Canada :( How do people know where you're registered? Just by word of mouth I guess? I hope we aren't registering too late.

I'm posting this update below as well. David and I went to see Alexx tonight. She's doing SO awesome. She's working on stairs now and doing really, really well! She got to go home on a night pass last weekend! She could spend mothers day with her mama and baby girl! She looks SO good you guys. She looks back to normal. She's lost TWENTY pounds!!!!!!!! But she's actually SO excited about it, lol. She looks soo good and amazing and beautiful. Her discharge date is still June 30th, but it may be moved up, here's hoping! She is just such a brave, strong, beautiful woman and such an inspiration <3 I've posted some photo's we took tonight together!

I'm Photographing Someone's Wedding! - this New Years Eve!

Well, I'd consider myself an amateur photographer. I love it, it's my passion. I actually just bought my very FIRST SLR camera yesterday. The Canon Rebel T2i. I'm in love <3 :) My FH's Aunt is getting married this New Years Eve, and just asked me to do her photo's. I am soo nervous because I am really only used to doing photo's of landscapes, animals, flowers, etc. NOT people! I am hoping to be getting some experience this summer with (actually my photographer for my wedding, and also friend) assisting her doing weddings, etc. for all the candid shots! But this one, I'll be doing all by myself! I told the bride I'm pretty nervous as I'm shy and not good at setting people up for photo's etc, but, I think I'll do a good job, I hope :) She told me to really not sweat it and to relax and just have fun and she knows I'll do a good job. Wish me luck!
