Buck and Doe!
You girls have them??
Last night was FH's sister's buck and doe! We raised awesome money!!! It was SOO much fun! I have posted just a few photo's. Lots were taken by her photographer for the wedding, (they're friends from work) so don't give me the credit for the great photos! lol. Can't wait for the wedding photo's, they'll be gorgeous.
But the night was great, went perfectly, and we had soo much fun! Lots of drinking and dancing! And there was Karaoke! So do you girls have Buck and Doe's from where you're from?! We are getting SO excited for ours this time next year! PS. for those of you who have never heard of a Buck and Doe: We do it alllllllll the time here in Ontario anyway! You just throw a huge party. Get a cheap hall for the evening, get a liquor liscense and sell tickets a few months ahead of time. There is music, food, dancing, drinking, games, etc. ALL of the games that people will play (50/50 Draw, Raffle's etc) all the money from those games go to the bride and groom. All of the drinks people buy, that money goes to the bride and groom. Just everything! The money will pay for the hall, and the rest the bride and groom use for their wedding, to pay for the photographer, cake, whatever you still need to buy! Usually the buck and doe is done a few months ahead of time. It's a TON of fun, people come to support the bride and groom, and any money made that night from drinks and games is all fundraiser money for the wedding :) People go to them all the time even when they don't know the couple, because it's cheap drinks with music and dancing! The games don't cost a lot to play at all, and you win prizes! Last night we made about 2000$ for the bride and groom! |

Can't believe this! Seriously?!
Ok, so not for MY wedding but my FH's sister is getting married August 1st. Well she has 3 girls, and I'm the MOH.
So it's almost just a MONTH away. And his sister saw her BM on facebook talking to another girl saying she's going to the wedding "IF" she can get a ride! IF?!?! So she confronted her and asked, are you having problems coming? Well she assumed she could get a ride with a family member of the bride, and well no, she can't. She's having enough trouble finding a ride for her own grandmother. So the bride was asking me for advice. I told her to be upfront, there's no beating around the bush, even though they're friends and she wants to try and be nice. Well the BM still has no answers for her, she has no ride to the wedding, and can't afford a bus or train ticket. The Wedding's a month away, she's GOT to tell her right away if she can make it or not. Well she wrote the bride back and was not clear what so ever, totally blase and not clear or up front at all. The Bride wrote her back and said it's probably best if she weren't in the wedding, and asked for the wedding dress back, of *course* paying her back. Well now BM is saying she will not give back the dress until she is paid FIRST. Ummmmmmm... you have caused this much stress for her, has literally done maybe 2% for the wedding, seriously, and should be EXTREMELY sorry she can't make it SO last minute, and she's being bitchy and wanting the money back first?! Well of course she's going to be getting paid back, but seriously?! Show's how much of a friend she is! On top of that, she has been even more difficult trying to get the dress back from, and so a new dress is being ordered for a new BM. |

Garter
I think this is the one I want!
I've looked around on etsy.com and I absolutely love this garter! I've seen it before, but went back to see if it was still available just a couple days ago and it's there! Yay! 23$.. and I can get it in black and ivory thank goodness : ) But I think I'll wait a bit and see if there are any other things I want on there and make a bigger order than doing smaller orders and having to pay S&H each time. I loove the feathers! :)

Feathers!!
I have recently become really intrigued by the use of feathers in hair (on fascinators), in center pieces, and in flower bouquets! I know I want to have them somewhere but I don't know what is too much! I absolutely LOVE these fascinators and I think one would go lovely with my dress. For now, I am off to look at some centerpieces using feathers. I'm having a little trouble finding great photo's of flower bouquets with feathers incorporated or centerpieces with feathers, so if any of you have any suggestions, please, please let me know!
Never thought I would like feathers incorporated at all.. lol.. and didn't think my fiance would go for it, but now we're both actually liking the idea! ps. for some reason I wasn't able to upload all the fascinators I like :( |

Wedding Cake
Awesome Cakes, Awesome Prices!
Well I went to this woman in my home town with my FH mother to look at cakes for FH's sister (Im her MOH) for her Bridal Shower. Well FH sister LOVES cats so we chose the cake shown in the picture.. we found it in a magazine. It was amazing! And done in fondant icing. Well my FH and I think we would like regular icing for our cake.. so FH mom got this girl to make us a cake for our Graduation in regular icing, and that is the icing we've chosen, regular, not fondant. After seeing her amazing work, we've decided to have her do our cake. Also, for the cat cake, she charged on 45$! I showed her 3 cakes I am intersted in, and she said the most our cake would cost would be around 400$! So excited! Here are some cakes that I really love and that we are considering for our wedding.
The one with three cakes in a row.. I took at a bridal show, and the ones on the end, I just took photo's of cakes in magazines! |

Ask a Question
October 2010 Brides?
I asked this question (well for just 2010 brides) months ago now, and got lots of responses, but now that we are almost ONE YEAR away I want to know of any, more specifically, October 2010 Brides!! I felt like I was the only October 2010 Bride on here for the longest time, now I see a few popping up. I would love to add any of you October brides to my faves and see how your weddings are coming along in comparison to mine :) So, who are all the October 2010 Brides on WBC? Particularly October 2nd 2010!!
Almost 1 year girls! Are you getting excited? I really am to be just 1 year away! |

Look at this Dress!
My sister came to visit me this weekend and we looked at dresses this morning. This dress is AMAZING. I would want it in black with an ivory sash. I am holding the back because this was a size 12 and she's probably a 4 lol. She looks friggen gorgeous and it's so amazing on her. I want my 3 other girls to try it on. It's Impression, Style 1689. Then we tried on another dress at another store which is very pretty but doesn't seem as elegant. I do love both, but I love the mermaid style so much more now that I have seen one with and one without. Let me know what you all think!
ps. lol. my sister loves to pose and we thought it was hilarious because she looks like a bitchy bridezilla and I'm a poor bridesmaid hahha |

Ceremony Music
Bag piping!
Ever since I was really little I have always LOVED bag piping. Every time I have ever heard it, it makes me want to cry, and I have NO idea why. I'm not Scottish or anything, (just a little in me :P ) But I just love it so much, and was interested in having it played while I walked down the aisle.
Well today, my FMIL booked a bag piper for us for the ceremony for just $75! I'm so incredibly excited, I love it so much and I'm so excited I'm going to have it during my walk down the aisle! Is anyone else having bag pipers? Do you think it's weird to have it if you're not having a full on Scottish wedding? That's what I have been a little worried about though. |

Does Anyone Else Feel Like This?!
WBC Commenting!
Ugh. I don't know. I guess I'm just grumpy and not in the best mood but geez! I feel like all I do when I come on here is comment, comment, comment on people's things. Sure I have passed a few posts where I don't know what to say so I skip it. but 90% of the time I comment on anything I open!
I have 2 pages of blogs and barely ever get comments. I guess my posts are long which may contribute to people not feeling like reading them. But I see people post stuff about their wedding dress, or an accomplishment, etc. and they get like 45 comments! I get lots of views sometimes and zero comments or just a few. Or just no one looks at my blogs. I guess they're just not that interesting? I'm not asking for other brides to comment on everything now because of this post, and I still have 16 months to go and don't really have a ton up about my wedding.. but I have bits and pieces and it will get more interesting once I get more planned, but I just feel frustrated when people post about stuff and get a million comments and I post about very similar things and get may 5 to none. Anyways, does anyone else feel like this? Maybe I'm being bitchy but it's just like, what's the point of posting then? I know I'm not a very popular or exciting bride on here, but geez. |

We're Graduates!
Yay!
Hi Everyone!
Well Yesterday was my fiance's Graduation and the day before was mine! I Graduated from 2 years in Health Information Management. This means I can work at hospitals, Doctor's offices, or Clinics. And for about a month now I have had a job at a Cardiology Clinic thanks to my school placement! My fiance Graduated from Computer Programming. He took this for 3 years and I'm soo incredibly proud of him! We were able to go to each others Graduations and see each other Graduate!! My parents came up for mine and his parents came up for his. We couldn't overlap because we don't have enough room for everyone to stay over at our place, lol. Anyways, I just wanted to share. I feel really good right now! PS. The cake picture at the end, the cake was made by a girl from our hometown and she does amazing cakes! She made a bridal shower one for my friend last weekend and it was awesome and only 45$! I have talked to her about cakes I like, and she can make our wedding cake for around 300$! |
