Wedding Invitation
Finally Done...
So, my Fiance and I worked really hard last week to get our invitations done, and out to our loved ones. They turned out quite well. This is the first DIY project, and I was pretty happy with the outcome. The Pink paper was a little brighter then I was anticipating, but oh well, who really cares?

Ring Bearer Attire
So...cute!!
I just bought my nephews short suit for the wedding. I bought it from Tinytux.com. It matches perfectly!! My groomsman are wearing a white tie, that has a checkered print, and so does his suit. I'm so excited to see him wear it.

Selfish...
So, another vent...I won't make it as long...Promise!!!
My brother and I had a huge fight yesterday, over the cost of going away to Mexico. He has known about Scott and I wanting to go away to get married, long before we got engaged...and he told me they were looking forward to it, and that they had the money saved for when it happens. Also, he asked if I could insure it would be a kid friendly resort, so my nephew could come along. (which I did...just for them) Well, it happened (obviously) and now he thinks I'm selfish for expecting people to fork over $1800/person to come to Mexico. Plus, my sis in law will probably be prego again, so he feels it defeats the whole purpose of an all inclusive, and now they feel they are being forced into a trip. He says I've added so much extra stress to his marriage, and I need to put myself in their shoes. When Scott and I first got engaged in April, I said to my parents, instead of giving us money, make sure all of the important people can make it (my Grandma's/and bother, plus they are still giving us money...man I love them)....Well, my bother and his wife had some unexpected bills to pay about three months ago, and now there money was tied up in other things...totally understandable. My parents offered to pay, and said this is a gift, and if they ever want to pay it back they can, and if they never do, it will never be brought up again. :) Now he said he feels like the welfare family...ahhh...I can't do anything right!! I'm STRESSED!! There is obviously a little more to this story, but I didn't want to get carried away. Am I being really selfish?? Or are they?? Or both?? |

Need to vent...
Buying my dress
So, I went in a couple of weeks ago, to order my dress, and my two bridesmaid dresses. I live in Calgary, and I'm buying my dress in Edmonton (about 3 hrs away) The only reason I was buying there was because my Parents live there, and that is where I found the dresses. Any way, I had gone into Wedding world when I first got engaged to look at dresses, and the first time I went looking, I found my dress. The sales ladies were not very helpful, but the one I was dealing with started to grow on me, and she actually made it quite enjoyable. I had gone in a couple more times, and finally my mind was made up!!!
Two weekends ago, I went to order my dress, and when I asked if Cyndel was there, the other sales women told me she no longer worked there. Alright I thought, let's just get this over and done with. One of my bridesmaids needed to try on the dress, and she wanted to see me in mine. I asked the sales lady for some help finding the dresses, she rolled her eyes, and told me they would be in this section (as she pointed) I found the bridesmaid dress, and found my dress hanging on the rack. She said when I was ready to let her know. Well, she walks in on me, without even asking if I was ready. Then she tied the dress up (well not even half up, and yes it can tie all the way up) and walks away. Well my bridesmaid looks at the dress, and says "I don't really like it, it does nothing for you" I started to stress, and I told her I had another dress that I was debating between, and asked the sales lady if she knew where it was. She said she would try to find it, and needless to say she never returned. I waited 20min, and when I went to find her, she was standing at the front of the store...doing nothing. I eventually found the dress, but there was no ribbon in the back. Kari (my bridesmaid) went to ask if she had any ribbons, since we found the dress,and it didn't have one. She handed her one, and walked away. Kari came back and said "well i guess I have to do this" she helped me into the dress. I started to stress, as the dress was the one i wanted originally, but it just wasn't as suitable as the other one since I'm doing a destination wedding. Kari, then said, "let's try on the other dress again" This time she tied it up completely, and it looked awesome....I knew it was the dress for me. So, now it's time to pay...and I go up to the front where this stupid sales lady is. She ignores us again!! I pay for the deposits for the bridesmaid dresses (as my Mom already came in to pay the deposit on mine) She goes and prints off my receipt, drops it in front of me, turns her back, without even saying a word!!! At this point I'm livid...I ask is that all? She doesn't even look at us, and says "Yup" I walked out of there in disbelief, how could somebody treat a customer like that, and especially when this is supposed to be an amazing experience.... I'm still not sure what I'm going to do...any suggestions?? Anybody else get treated like crap?? |

Scott is going to kill me....
So, I guess I have to explain myself....Scott and I are big hockey fans, but are favorite teams are big rivals. (Edmonton Oilers & Calgary Flames) It has been an on going joke throughout our relationship, and we pick on each other all the time. So, a couple of years ago, I made a bet that my Oilers would make it into the playoffs (but they didn't) and then I had to wear a Flames jersey for all of the Oilers, Flames games. So, this is my pay back.... :) I can't wait!!!

Wedding favors, and boxes
I thought they were cute...
I found these boxes, and they come in quite a few colors. I have accents of silver for my wedding colors, and I thought this would be a perfect way to add it in, as well they make a cute decoration on the tables. I will put the seashell magnets in the boxes!! I wanted something that people will use, and remember the wedding by. I thought what perfect way, then to place something on their fridge!!
