DIY fan programs and monogram aisle runner
My dearest love has put me on a strict budget! I have never been the crafty kind, but I am starting to surprise myself more and more everyday. I was scared at first, but so far the things I have made have been fairly easy. My first big project has been to make my own programs. Since my wedding will be outside and in July, I know all the guests will be fairly hot. So I had no other choice but fans! I found a simple template online and got my brain to working. I think I spent maybe $65 for 100 fan programs. I got some really pretty shimmery pink card stock and ordered my sticks online. Since my paper was pink I wanted my sticks to be brown. I used acrylic paint. Spray Adhesive is a godsend! I had never heard of that stuff until now. My wedding invites have polka dotted ribbon on them, so I found the matching ribbon at hobby lobby and added that to the sticks to kinda make them match. My next project wasnt quite as simple as the programs! Let me give you a tip, DONT TRY TO PAINT AN AISLE RUNNER WHILE DRINKING MARGARITAS. Defin not a good idea! I had a lady on ebay make my monogram for me and then I took it to Kinkos had them blow it up. Then i traced my monogram onto my aisle runner. After tracing I then painted over that. To add alittle something to it so it wasnt as plain, I used think brown ribbon and glued down the sides. Very pretty!!! I think I spent $19 for the aisle runner from walmart, $4 to have the monogram enlarged at Kinkos, $10 for the actual monogram, and $5 for the paint. The ribbon was just some leftover from other wedding stuff. All together I didnt spen over $40!
