Married!
Things have been CRAZY busy at work, recovering from the wedding and trying to find a place in the city. We move next week so once we're settled I'll re-cap the day and add more photos. We're still waiting on our professionals but we have a couple of sneak-peeks.

Tuxes
Seriously, Seriously?!
We chose to book our suits through Freedman at Tip Top Tailors since FH loves that store and we've heard the rental service is good. Before I go any further keep in mind that we have groomsmen in 4 cities in Ontario, 1 in British Columbia and 1 in Cincinnati this will come in handy later.
FH had a really particular style he wanted for his guys. Originally he had wanted them all to wear jeans with white sportscoats, ties etc. We honestly didn't think this was an issue. It turns out that renting a coat is only $10.00 cheaper than getting the entire suit. The guys would then have to buy matching jeans etc, and their shirts and ties would not be included in the $115.99 for the jacket. Mike decided to forget about that idea because it was going to put a serious dent in the boys wallets. Fast forward to earlier this summer in Vaughan where we decided to book our suits. We chose all the details, gave him all the information andensured that it wasn't an issue to book at a store that wasn't our pick up store. After filling it all out, he told us we couldn't do it there. WTF? Finally we went to Barrie to book there since it was closer to where we are living. Our sales rep (the store manager) was awesome. He was really easy going and definitely didn't make us feel awkward. He ensured us that all of the guys would be able to book at any store and even over the phone if necessary. The suits had to be paid for in advance and they could pay with a credit card over the phone. We were also told that since we only have Tuesdays off, we could pick it up on Tuesday for sure in case there were any issues this would also give us time to get it sorted out. We got an e-mail a week or so ago from Mike's aunt in Cincinnati. They had called to book one of the tuxes and were told that they could not pay over the phone with a credit card and that we were going to have to go and pay for it. After many frantic phone calls we got this one sorted out. Then, we get a call from the Best Man saying he called to book his suit and they didn't know who's wedding party he was in! My cousin has a suit booked their under our wedding and they weren't sure if it was the same wedding. Again, after many frantic calls we sorted it out. Today I called to make sure the tux would be there on Tuesday. I got a VERY rude sales lady who informed me that the suits come in Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday and that she didn't know which day ours would be coming in. She said that if the wear date was written as the day before we would have no problems. IT WASN'T! I told her we've taken Tuesday morning off to drive down and she rudely informed me the suits come in between 12 and 5 with no way of them telling when. She also said that we could pay $10 extra for each earlier day we wanted it, but it was too late to do that now. I hung up with her, almost in tears. Mike called back a couple of minutes later to ask if there was an issue if we could take it to Niagara with us. She not so nicely said. "I LITERALLY just spoke with your fiance." Um, hello? I'm paying you for a service, YOU work for ME. So, we officially have NO idea when we will get his suit or what's going to happen. For any other brides booking suits, DON'T use Tip Top Tailors. Or if you do, DO NOT use the Georgian Mall location in Barrie. Sorry for the rant, I'm just sooo frustrated. Everything else has gone pretty well. I'm so worried that it won't come in or it won't be the right colours etc. Has anyone else had these issues? UPDATE: We got Mike's suit and it fits perfectly! One of our groomsmen was called today to say his was in as well. So excited! |

Ask a Question
Am I Feeling Like I'm Supposed To Be?
Does anyone else feel underwhelmed?? Our wedding is 6 days away I don't feel stressed out! We've been planning for two years and I think everything just needs to fall into place. We still have to pack, get everything sorted out, pick up Mike's tux and get all of our rehearsal stuff.
Also, on a sidenote...is EVERYONE asking you WBC brides if you're excited or nervous?? And does anyone else find it SUPER annoying?! Everytime I'm trying to work on stuff at the office, I'm getting asked a million times! I've even started telling people I'm excited for when they stop asking me! Gah, maybe I'm just overly relaxed during this whole thing...... |

DIY Wedding
Candy Buffet
I had wanted some boxes for under our tablecloth on the candy buffet. Of course, my mom thought this was TOO simple and decided to make her own. She used some of the table squares I bought on Etsy, some thick black ribbon from our guestbook and that was that. So happy with how they turned out considering I wasn't even expecting it.

Head Table
After purchasing 7 cream damask table runners last year, my mom pulled them out to iron them and realized they were terrible! Luckily, she found this awesome material at Fabricland. The store was closing, so she ended up with 14 feet of material for less than $15.00!

Our 2 Favourite Pew Marker Mock-Ups
Wow, have NOT posted in SO long. The wedding is getting so close, I honestly didn't think my management job would take up so much of my time. Anyways, our decorator sent us mock-ups of the pew markers. These are the two that we really like, we're just waiting to hear back on the price difference.
UPDATE: Decided on the cones with the Gerberas and Roses. They are costing $10.00 each and are being done by Set the Mood Decor in Niagara. |

Wedding Hair Style
Yay! Settled on my hair!
I always wanted a sleek ponytail style, but was unsure. I finally found and settled on this style. Since my hair is only shoulder length, I had to purchase extra "hair" so that the length would be right. I found some at Trade Secrets in Mississauga in the perfect colour and it was on sale for $59.95. I don't have a picture of the tiny Kleinfeld's tiara I have that will also be there, but hopefully will get one.

Wedding Dress
Reception Dress
After trying on my dress at home a few times, I decided I was going to need a second dress. My ceremony dress is gorgeous, black and white and very non-traditional but it's also very full and heavy. After going to a few different bridal shops, I (along with my fiance. mom, and stepdad) settled on this dress. She's wearing heels in the picture, but I'll have flats on so it will fall at the floor. I ordered it in Ivory with the Black sash. It's supposed to come in July 5th and then I can be fitted. SO exciting!
