Start looking now and find out how long it takes to get a dress in if needed. I ordered mine in Sept 2007 it was supposed to come in the end of Dec 2007, it didn't come in until middle of Feb 2008. Then I was freaking out because it still needed to be altered. It just got done in the middle of March and my wedding is in 2 weeks (April 26). I would have been much happier if I wouldn't have had to deal with that so colse to the wedding.

It's never too early...I ordered my dress in februrary and I have it on layaway. I am paying monthly on it which really helps me because of all the other stuff I am buying for the wedding. The most important thing though is to not rush yourself.

I agree it's never too early. I would save the alterations closer to wedding date but make an appointment. A lot can change so you wouldn't want to do alter it twice. Good luck with the planing

I bought my dress last month and my wedding isnt until next june. I wasnt planning on buying then and there, but me and my mom went to just look around to get ideas on what I wanted. I found the perfect dress for me and it was on sale so I wanted to get it then before I had to wait and pay full price. I knew it was The One so I am really happy that I bought it now.
