Bridesmaids
Dresses
I've picked out and for the most part, gotten the approval of my MOH, 2 of the 4 bridesmaids, and my FH.

Since they're going to be carrying a lot of pink, I "dumbed" down the pink, and went with a chocolate brown dress.

C'est magnifique!

Wedding Invitation
Simplicity!
For our wedding invitations, my mother has been saying she wants it to be elegant and extravagant, and my response is "You're paying for it, fine.. but we're simple people!" so she's come to the compromise of formality when it comes to the wording aspect, but I'm free to pick and choose.

I stumbled across mygatsby, and customized a few invitations to see what I like, and I enjoy seeing what it would look like in front of me :)

We decided on a pocket invitation, mostly identical to the one in the picture, only espresso instead of black. It's simple, but charming - and allows me to slip in a little more pink that I'd be allowed to otherwise (I'm sneaky!). The outside is too plain, so I'm going to ask my creative good friend to use his ribbon abilities to tie a pale pink bow outside the folder, keeping it closed and elegant.

Now my issue is getting them shipped to friends and/or family in the US, since they apparently do not ship to Canada! Oi.

Fountains!
When it comes to centerpieces, I've always had a vivid picture of candles, candles and more candles! - Unfortunately, my venue does not allow 'flames'. Unlike every other venue that has restrictions of 4-5 inches of vase above the flame to ensure no accidents! But I understand, we don't want a castle burning down, especially with the drinking our families tend to indulge in!

So while I was reading my monthly Avon magazine, my fiance pointed out a fountain and said "Wouldn't a fountain make a beautiful centerpiece?!" and for once, his creative idea actually popped into my head as a good one.

We started searching for fountains online that could coordinate flowers and our colours without looking far too small or far too big - when we stumbled on Ebay and fell in love with the fountain on the left! (Which is actually a wedding cake fountain, but I'm far from caring!) The only issue was they have cords, and I most definitely don't want to have thirty-something cords creeping out underneath linens, exposing themselves and looking ugly. So we searched more, and at last found battery operated, and looking almost identical. Now I have to order them in a timely fashion, and hope I have somewhere in the apartment to store them!

I love that they're clear, and look elegant - and at the same time I don't have to spend a million dollars on flowers. Our idea is to toss in some pink orchids with some white and pink roses, and ta-da! Centerpieces coming in at a grand total of $42.00 each (including flowers!) and not breaking the bank.

Flowers & Other Ideas..
For flowers - pink, white, pink, white, pink, pink, pink.
I have a small obsession with roses and calla lilies, so I'm most definitely sticking to those two flowers for the most part.

Bridal Bouquet
--------------------
I really liked one bouquet that was all pink roses, and white calla lilies throughout, but once I saw the pink calla lilies with the white (/cream) roses, I fell in love. It looks modern, and it just pops!

Bridesmaid Bouquets
------------------------------
I don't want something completely different, so I'm thinking I want a pink calla lily bouquet for my bridesmaids, or maybe white calla lilies wrapped with a light pink ribbon (with silk chocolate brown braiding).

Flower Girl Attire
-----------------------------------
I'm not being traditional in the flower girl resembling the bride in a crisp white dress (I guess it's the symmetry thing again!) so I searched the internet for a classy chocolate brown and pink dress so that my flower girl (my little cousin, who's turning 8) will look adorable and tie into my bridal party.

Bridesmaids
Who & dresses?
Picking out my bridesmaids was by far the easiest thing thus far.
There was no fighting over it, because every time I would list who's in the bridal party, the FH would just nod and say "Obviously". Success!

So my maid of honour is my best friend Samantha (whom I've known since I was 6-ish). My bridesmaids are my other good friend Melissa, Michael's sister Kristina, my brother's long-time girlfriend Megan, and my cousin's fiance Crystal. We have strong family values, so having as much as our family involved in our wedding as possible without burning some bridges with close friends, was and is necessary.

My only issue is that my wedding party all have the most opposite body shapes imaginable, and I don't want to just give them a colour scheme and allow them to pick whatever dress they want (I have issues with symmetry).

SO - I have yet to decide on a bridesmaid dress that I absolutely adore, and think they would all like, but I've stumbled on quite a few that would look precious! The one I really like is the one on the right, I think it would accommodate most body shapes (for the most part).
Luckily enough, it comes in the chocolate brown that I think is SO beautiful, and the accent (parts that are brown in the picture) will be light pink.

Venue
Casa Loma
This wasn't even up for discussion.
I've dreamed about having my wedding at this gorgeous castle since I went for a field trip to it when I was six.

I wasn't bending any budget, and if money was ever an issue, I would not have a flower or other decoration anywhere near!
Fortunately enough, my father is aware that this is a dream venue for me, and happily agreed to "foot the bill". (Thank you, daddy!)

The ceremony will be in the gardens, and while it's October and will probably be quite chilly, it's the only REAL option.
We are expecting 200+ people, and the only alternative to a wedding in the gardens is a wedding in their gorgeous conservatory and library - which just happens to be where the reception is! So to have the wedding indoors, we would have to exit, wait for them to put the whole reception together (tables, chairs, linens, flowers, etc.) and then re-enter.
Too much of a hassle, and I tend to have bad luck, so I crossed that out right away.

So the ceremony will be in the gardens (which conveniently are open until the end of October, yes!) and then go into the castle after wards for dinner and dancing.

BARBIE SHOES!
BARBIE SHOES!

SHOES!
Barbie shoes, seriously.
Like I said prior - I want pink shoes.
If I yell "pink shoes are HAPPENING" at my fiance one more time, he may in fact disown me.

To my surprise and delight, I was on the prowl for pink shoes that I could wear (and that didn't look fairly ugly and/or uncomfortable) and came across Town Shoes - the Barbie collection.

I am absolutely in love, and will definitely buy them ASAP, because they're only a spring/summer collection (to my knowledge).

I also think screaming "Honey, BARBIE SHOES" will drive him close to disowning me too!

Wedding Dress
MAGGIE SOTTERO
The first thing I did when we discussed a wedding was lurk the internet for a series of designers that all did similar types of dresses.
I've always been the typical "I want to be a princess" bride-to-be, and I soon discovered that my mind wasn't going to desire anything but something that turns into a giant pouff.
Searching for ball gowns, I came across Maggie Sottero, and while I fell in love with 90% of her dresses - this dress caught my eye.
I smirked, let my fiance take a quick glance (he very much believes it's bad luck to EVER see my wedding dress until I come down the aisle), so he could say if he thought it was pretty, and decided that it was the dress that I WILL HAVE.

The plus? I'm so short and it's so pouffy that I will most definitely be rocking some pink heels instead of the classic white. My religious grandparents would most definitely frown if they saw otherwise ;)
