Sinamay Fascinator from Philippines!

So, as I mentioned in a recent post, my fiance and I recently got back from a month long trip touring Asia (Philippines, Thailand and Hong Kong).

During our first week in Manila, Philippines, I fell in love with a small sinamay hat or 'fascinator' being sold by a vendor in our hotel. It is VERY similar to the one shown in the picture - ivory woven material with white feathers and loops.

I paid 300 pesos (approximately $7.00 CAD) and carried this thing by hand on countless plane rides across Asia and back to Canada for our wedding so it wouldn't get ruined (it is VERY fragile). I plan on wearing this for photos and perhaps even the ceremony with a small veil.

I laughed at myself a LOT during our trip for fussing over this silly thing - it became a running joke among our group 'not to wreck Windy's hat'. I feel okay about it now since I just priced similar products online and find that they run everywhere from $40 - $150 ;)

Just wanted to share this newfound sense of pride I have! Hehe.
