Wedding Invitation - Invitation Design Dilemma - Help! - MISSMAY's White Wedding by Color Blog

So I'm stuck in a rut. I designed and sent out our Save the Dates a few months ago (see design in previous post) and still absolutely love them. However, my fiancé has shared that he wants something 'fun' and that includes a photo of us for the actual invitation - which isn't consistent with the STD design.

Nonetheless, this entire process (planning, wedding AND marriage) is about compromise.. so I'm trying my best to incorporate a fun, goofy image into a similar theme (see img). I have used a similarly colored, textured background to stick with the tactile, DIY 'feel' of the STD's... but added a photographic element to reflect our 'goofy' side.

I know some brides are strictly for elegant and tradition (this design being neither of those), but I would love some feedback about this.

He loves it and I can't decide if I do.

Does it even matter if the invitations are 'matchy-matchy' to the Save the Dates? Can I break the mold and do something different for each?

Thoughts?

Hey! We are going for a fun atmosphere, rather than elegant, so I can see what you're saying. Our save the dates were sent out before we even really had a theme, so they won't match at all, lol. They were black though, and our colors are black and pink. And our thank you cards will probably have a pic from the wedding, so won't necessarily match either. I think that's really all up to you if you want it to match all the way through. Good luck!!! :)

If your STDs and invitations don't match, don't worry, the world won't end =)

It's okay if he wants something fun instead of the usual traditional stuff. It will show your personality. And plus, the fact that he gave you HIS opinion, wow...you should really consider that. A lot of men could care less about details.
But you should talk it out with him and come to a decision you both agree on =)
