Same colours, different styles

I've gone the "modern" way and have allowed my bridesmaids to have different style dresses but the same colour.

I have nothing against the "uniformed" look because it just takes the hassle out of dealing with the bridesmaid drama.......which can be a "f***in piss off lol!

But I strongly believe that as women we come in all different shapes/sizes and one dress style won't necessarily look flattering on all body types.

I want them to look good too so I want them to wear something that will be best suited for their particular body frame.

All of my bridesmaids agreed on the same dress but they are wearing all different jewel toned colors.  My sister, the MOH, will wear whatever dress she wants as long as it's long and taffeta.  her dress is eggplant purple.

I like all of these in the pic.

I'm going traditional i like all in one dress plus my girls have similar shapes.

I also think different dresses can be to much drama too because what if someone wants the other persons dress. Its you wedding this not the time for them to love the dress just get in it

Well, I guess I went modern because since they are paying for their own dresses, I think they should be able to wear the dress they want but it have to be the same material, color and also length. I love the style of those pics that you have posted.

I am going to be doing the same thing. Their dresses will be knee length black so they can definitely wear it again! I love these dresses in this pic!!

I only had one bridesmaid, and I gave her some pictures of the style of the whole wedding and let her choose whatever she wanted as long as it worked with my colours.

I love the look of different dresses though, especially if there are alot of bridesmaids.

I'm going the modern way as well. My girls are different shapes and sizes so I want them to feel comfortable in whichever dress they pick.

Sure can be a P-oFF LOLOL. Mine are going to be in jewel tones, finding saris in the same colour was hard. Sigh.  I think this look is gorgeous though - really do.

I may be more traditional - but in the Indian culture - everyone just wears a sari - I set a standard with jewel tones as my initial search for the same sari failed, and then my quest for all purple failed LOL. Ah well, it will look like a Bollywood carnival :)

I'm all for uniformity. By doing this, the same quality will exist amongst all bridesmaids. Some bridesmaids will be lavish and buy nice expensive dresses while another will buy the cheapest. I just prefer them all to wear the same dresses.

That's a gorgeous picture of the modern bridesmaids!
I let my girls choose their style. I just told them the color from Alfred Angelo or from David's Bridal same name persimmon. They picked their best style and no problems. : )

I definately agree with you! My bridesmaids are having the same dress, but it's a dress that can be styled 6 different ways, which I LOVE! I want my bridesmaids to feel comfortable and beautiful!
