Well it's been a very productive past week for knocking out some DIY projects! Martha Stewart aint got nothin on me! LOL.
I am SO pleased with these. The blue ones will be for the guys and the pink ones will be for my personal attendants. I still have yet to come up with the designs for our parents. |

DIY Table Numbers- Help!
I'm trying to figure out how to do this..... I made the table number thingies (pictured, the blue ones).... but have not numbered them yet. How do I do this?? The paper is a textured card stock. Stencils? Tracing? How on earth does one accomplish this task???
Thank you! |

Wedding Rings And Jewelry
My Jewelry
OF COURSE I will be changing my jewelry (and hair) between the ceremony and reception. If you know me, this wouldn't surprise you =)
I wanted something pretty and delicate for the ceremony, and then change into something more "blingy" and fun with a louder statement for the reception. I absolutely LOVE the choker-style necklace, I'm just not sure that I love it with my dress. Of course I had to try it on with the dress, but I'm not 100% sold yet. What do you ladies think??? |

Bridal Suite / Grooms' Room Sign
Ahhhhhh the little details. I'm really happy with the way these turned out. It's amazing what will come off the top of your head after spending an hour in JoAnn Fabric!
(The Bridal sign is VERY sparkly, can't really see it all that great in the picture though) |

Wedding Dress
Deal of a lifetime dress.....
I have actually had my wedding dress since June, but never posted any pictures of it. SOoooooo, here it is!!! Would you believe I paid $175 for it? Yes, you read that correctly. Brand new (tags still on) Mori Lee dress from the Blu collection. Original price $800.
Long story short, I had heard about this event called the "Wedding Gown Gala" for a few years, but never paid any attention since I was not yet engaged. Well, last year when it came around I did a little research and discovered I had my work cut out for me. Goodwill hosts this event every year. Local botiques donate BRAND NEW dresses and then the Goodwill store sells them at a huge discount. The sale started at 6:00am and I was in line by 3:00am (2nd person in line). They let us in at 6am, 10 people at a time. I made a mad dash for the section with my size and quickly browsed through until I found one I liked. I ended up buying the very first (of three) that I tried on. I made the news and was interviewed by the local newspapers. It was a huge deal. If ANYONE is in the Tampa area, I highly recommend going to this event this year!! They have it in June, and it's advertised in the local papers. I love my dress. It's classic, yet timeless and beautiful. (I don't have a full view pic because it's too big for me and looks bunchy in some areas. ) |

Self-Dyed Flower Petals
These flower petals came from Dollar Tree...... I bought them white and dyed them yellow with Rit Dye. I'll be using them to line the "aisle" (outdoor ceremony).

SUCCESS!!! Finally got a table/centerpiece mock up
So after months and months and months of deliberation, I FINALLY decided what my tables are going to look like.
I bought my own chair covers, chair sashes (2 different styles), and table runners (Thank you, Craigslist!). Then with the help of one of my lovely ladies, we came up with these centerpieces. It's hard to see the details of the vases, but the tallest one has clear rocks/crystals in the bottom with white flowers toward the top. The middle size one has sand and seashells at the bottom, and the smallest one has more crystals. Lit up in a dark room they are stunning and I can't wait to put the room together =) Those blue things attached to the metal holders are going to be my table numbers on one side, and menu on the other. Oh, and I also decided to wear my blue Chucks under my dress for a good photo op. The entire bridal party will be walking (about a block or 2) to the beach so I figured, what better opportunity to throw on some sneakers?? Next project: Boutineers for the guys. |

Boudoir Shots.... Sneak Peek!!!
I finally got to see a "sneak peek" of my photoshoot!!!! I am happy with the pics so far, can't wait to see the rest.
If anyone is thinking about doing this, I recommend it! I was so nervous about the whole thing but it was fun and liberating. I did my own hair and their make-up artist did my makeup for me, and I felt like a total rockstar =) I'll be making a book of the photos and giving it to my hubby as a gift on our wedding day, I can't wait. |

Hair Extensions
YES, even hair extensions can be done yourself. (Trust me, if there's a cheap way to do it, I'll find it).
They are human hair and in total cost me about $50..... I bought the hair from a beauty supply shop (not Sally, they are much cheaper at the other shops). 2 packs of hair, 2 different colors (so I could alternate them and get a highlight / lowlight look). I got the longest hair they had (20"), Cut the tracks into the perfect size pieces for my head, sewed in the clips and that's it! Super easy. I'm actually thinking about doing these for other people to make some extra money.... I can't believe people actually pay close to $200 for these at the stores. Not this girl!! Sorry the pic is a cell phone pic and not the best quality. The other pic is to see what the length of my hair is without the extensions =) |
