Our Wedding bands
I think we finally have picked out our wedding bands . They weren't near as expensive as I thought they would be . Thats one more thing to check off the list.

I was thinking of getting my gold ring plated in white gold. I've just heard wasn't really a good idea from a lot of jewelers. So I'm stickin' to my yellow gold.

i love yu;;

Oooh, this is a tricky one. You can't turn yellow gold into white gold by plating. Yes, it will have a white finish once plated, but it will wear off pretty quickly, and by quick I mean a few weeks to a few months. As I understand, you haven't bought your rings yet; I suggest you go for white gold if you want a white colored ring as it doesn't make much sense buying a yellow ring that you'll keep replating. Mind, even white gold will need replating but much less frequently. Make sure you have your rings plated at a jeweller's versus a jewellery store. Professional jewellers do a much better job and you can ask them to plate your rings thicker, ergo it'll wear off later.
Good luck!

it's all good. even white gold ring have to be re-diped about every 6months toa year. white gold is gold with rodium in it to make it white....yellow gold has nickel...gold it to weak otherwise...24$ sounds good to me. mine is $17 every time i re-dip..which is just wrong cause most places you buy the ring from will do it for free.  i got that same ring set....and later another....were not even married yet i'm so spoiled...i love both though and now i can just switch my center stone now and then, or put a same size cz in one...always a thought.

When I was shopping for my engagement ring, the lady at the jewellers said she had her yellow gold engagement ring plated. She had it done (she said) 1 year ago, and it was just starting to wear off. It was showing yellow on the bottom (the side of the ring opposite the diamond, sits next to the palm). She said she had it done once a year. A co-worker also just recently had her wedding band plated, she was iffy on the idea, but after looking into it she decided to go for it. If going every 4 months or so to get it re-plated is fine by you, then I say go for it!
